Title Obedience and disobedience to the Word (Gen.

Content In contrast to the cause of the flood in the Babylonian flood narrative, the biblical record clearly defines the flood as a moral judgment.

Humanity has been so corrupted and the earth is full of violence, so God's wrath destroyed all living things except Noah and his family, who walked with God.

God's salvation was accomplished through the ark, which was a three-story structure in the shape of a cuboid with a flat bottom, with a length of 137m, a width of 23m, a height of 14m, and a displacement of 4

It weighed about 3.300 tons.

Noah brought animals of all kinds into this ark to preserve life on earth. It can be seen that an early distinction was made between clean and unclean animals. And after preparations were made, the flood came.

(Matthew 24:37-39) “As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be with the coming of the Son of Man. Before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and marrying, until the day Noah entered the ark, until the flood came and destroyed them all. They did not understand it, so it will be with the coming of the Son of Man.” All living things on the earth (outside the ark) were annihilated.

Since sin had infected every aspect of life, there had to be an entirely new beginning.

It will be so at the end of this age as well. 150 days after the rain began, the ark rested on Mount Ararat, and in verse 14 the earth dried up. It was a new beginning.

Romans 1:16-17, 3:22b-28

Romans 1:16 “I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek, in which the righteousness of God is revealed, from faith to faith. one, as it is written, The righteous shall live by faith.”

Romans 3:22b-28 “The righteousness of God to everyone who believes, there is no distinction.23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,24 by the grace of God through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. has been justified freely.25 God set forth this Jesus as a propitiation through faith through his blood, that he might show his righteousness, in the forbearance of God, by passing over the sins he had committed before. 26 At this time he also showed himself righteous, that he himself was righteous, and that those who believe in Jesus might be justified.27 Then there is no room for boasting. By what law, not by works, but by faith alone.28 Therefore We admit that it is not by works of the law that a person is justified, but by faith.”

Matthew 7:21-29 “Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many said to me, “Lord, Lord, we will see you in your name. Did not he prophesy, and cast out demons in your name, and perform many mighty works in your name? 23 Then I will say to them plainly, “I never knew you; depart from me, you who practice lawlessness.” 24 So who Anyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.25 The rain falls, and the floods come, and the wind blows and strikes the house, but it does not fall, because the foundation is laid on the rock.26 He who hears it and does not do it will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.27 The rain fell, and the floods and the winds blew and crashed against the house, and it fell and fell, and it was in great ruin.28 When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching I am amazed, 29 because he taught as one with authority, not as their scribes.”

"Introduction"

God created the entire universe and created humans. That is, God is the Creator, and man is his creation.

Therefore, the life of believing in God will soon become obedience to God and His Word.

However, humans have been living a life of disobedience since Adam and Eve sinned and were expelled from the Garden of Eden. Now, Christians who have been reconciled to God must establish a right relationship with God, the Creator and Ruler, through absolute obedience.

A life of obedience to God does not mean that you have been in the church for a long time. Also, it does not mean having a high office, such as an elder or a priest.

Also, it does not mean paying a lot of money and doing great things in the church.

Christian obedience is to keep the ordinances and laws of the Lord God (the Bible, God's Word) and obey them.

A foreign theologian once described Korean Christianity as “Christianity-like Christianity.”

That is, there are many churches and many members, but there are very few people who live according to the Word and act according to the Word.

However, if you look at the Bible, you can see that numerous verses emphasize the words “obey the word and do it.”

1) You must follow the ordinances and laws that God has commanded.

(Deuteronomy 26:16) “Today the LORD your God commands you to do these decrees and ordinances.

To obey God is to do the Word, that is, to walk according to the Word of the Bible.

2).Jesus also emphasized works (Matthew 7:21-29).

Often, wrong believers think that works are the law and faith is the gospel, and misunderstand that in the Gospel age, there is no need to emphasize works so much.

However, in his final Great Commission (Matthew 28:20), Jesus clearly mentioned the importance of keeping the Word and doing it by saying, “Teach them to obey everything I have commanded you.”

3). God said that obedience comes from the heart with all your heart. (Romans 6:17, Deuteronomy 26:16)

Romans 06:17 “Thanks be to God, for you were originally slaves of sin, but in your heart you obeyed the pattern of teaching that was passed on to you.”

Deuteronomy 26:16 “Today the LORD your God commands you to do these ordinances and ordinances.

Obedience is not obedience that is forced and reluctant, but “obey with your heart” and do it with all your heart with a willing heart.

"conclusion"

Those who hear the word of God and put it into practice are like a wise man who built his house on the rock. When it rains, the floods come, and the wind blows, it crashes against that house, but it does not fall.

You will soon be built strong on all sides.

Also, those who hear the Word and do it will 1) receive God's love (John), 2) become God's property (Exodus), and 3) receive blessings even to their descendants. (God)

You will prosper in all things (Wednesday), your soul will be purified (1 Peter), and you will enjoy prosperity (1 Kings).

(Matthew 7:24-25, John 14:23, Ex 19:5-6, Deut 5:29, Jos 1:8, 1 Peter 1:22, 1 Kings 3:14)

Deuteronomy 05:29 “But they always have such a heart, that they fear me and keep all my commands, so that they and their children may be blessed forever.”

Exodus 19:05 “All the world is mine; if you listen to me and keep my covenant, you will be mine among the nations, 6 and you will become a kingdom of priests to me and a holy people. You shall tell your children.”

Joshua 01:08 “Do not let this book of the law depart from your mouth, and meditate on it day and night, and observe all that is written in it, so that you may make your way prosperous.”

1 Kings 03:14 “If you walk in my ways, as did your father David, and keep my decrees and commands, I will make your days longer.”

John 14:23 "Jesus answered and said, If a man loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our abode with him."

1 Peter 01:22 “By obedience to the truth, you have purified your souls, resulting in your love for your brother without deceit. Love one another with all your heart.”

Merciful God. Please enlighten our lacking and ignorant spiritual eyes so that we can see the word of God clearly, understand the mysterious meaning, and become obedient to death. Help me to become the holders of living faith who can obey and do whatever God says, in the name of Jesus, I pray. -Amen-
