Title: Oikos to the Lord! Text: Acts 1:8
Introduction] The church is a living organism, an organism. Therefore, new life must be introduced into the church through evangelism, and they must be educated, baptized, and raised up as new workers (ministers). If the church is sick, the work of life like this does not happen. The health of the church is proven through evangelism. The church must never lose sight of evangelism and saving lives.
1. Evangelism is the greatest purpose on earth for Jesus to come to this earth.
Jesus came to this earth to save lives (Mark 1:38,39). And the last word that Jesus left to his disciples as he ascended to heaven after completing all his work is evangelism (Acts 1:8). In this way, evangelism is the greatest purpose on earth for Jesus to come to this earth. Then, what is the purpose of our most precious life as saints? It must also be evangelism. There is nothing to live a more valuable life than to save one's life. Jesus made it clear. He said that one soul is more precious than the world (Matthew 16:26). Herein lies the importance of evangelism. Evangelism is the duty and privilege that Christians living in this world should do. It is important to understand clearly that it is not a ‘can and should not be done incidental to life’.
2. What should we do?
3. Oikos to the Lord!
“Go ye to the ends of the earth,” he says. If so, where is the end of our earth? The people we are living in right now and those who have a close influence in our lives are the ends of the earth. So, what should we do to lead them to the Lord? This is the practice of our church this year. First, we say, “Let's pray for Oikos!” Prayer is to defeat the work of the devil, the spirit of darkness working behind them. And it is “the work of cultivating the heart field”. Second, “Let’s go to Oikos!” Try to contact them while praying. Dating is the process of deepening a relationship. We must be wise as serpents and holy as doves. Third, "Let's lead the Oikos!" Forming a relationship with them is like providing a channel through which the gospel of life can flow. The church has two Oikos Invitational Feasts a year, but you don't have to wait until then. At the right time, you can wisely invite them to the ranch or evangelistic picnic.
Conclusion] Oikos evangelism is not a method. An attitude with dedication and passion bears fruit. We need you dedicated to leading them to the Lord.
