※ Bible: 2 Kings 5:1~7
The Tower of Babel civilization collapsed for one reason. The Bible says, “Let us make a name for ourselves.” This means that we should make a name for ourselves. What this means is that we will no longer acknowledge the authority of God, and that we can live without God as much as we want with a developed civilization. Because they ignored God in this way, the civilization of the Tower of Babel was judged.
In 2 Kings 5, Naaman had leprosy, which is a fatal disease that destroys a person. Because when I got leprosy, I thought it was a disease from heaven. Second, I had to leave everything and live in a secluded place. It is the same with our spiritual life of faith, and the fact that we are spiritually down is due to one fatal event.
Adam and Eve lived without need in the Garden of Eden. But Adam and Eve were expelled from the Garden of Eden, death came to them, and they lost their peace. Why? It was because of the sin of disobeying God's Word.
Although we are worshiping now, our worship will not reach God unless the problem of sin between God and us is resolved. The Bible says, “If you have any disputes with anyone before worship, make up first and come to worship.” I am speaking. Sin breaks our relationship with God. Sin is the breaking of the relationship between man and man. It is a sin to cut everything apart.
The second leprosy is that it is indiscriminate. Who can get leprosy. Sin is the same. Sin does not discriminate against people. Everyone is exposed to sin. The Bible says that even today, the evil devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Sin can penetrate anyone.
Also, leprosy was an incurable disease at that time. So is sin. We cannot solve it ourselves. The sin Adam and Eve committed Adam and Eve could not solve. However, in the Bible today, there is a way to solve leprosy.
The way was opened to cure General Naaman, who had incurable leprosy, not from the best doctor at the time, but because of the lowly maidservant at Naaman's house. This is the heart of the Bible.
The same is true of our sins. “Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are the smallest among the towns of Judah, out of you will come one who will rule over Israel.” This is the heart of the Bible.
No one gave the full-term Mary a room. How pathetic must Joseph and Mary be, the innkeepers did not give them a room and they were only stables. This lowly and lowly person was Jesus. However, through this very smallest Jesus, the work of salvation for all mankind to be set free from sin took place. The Bible testifies to just this.
In the 1800s, Joseon was a dark country. What is the source of such a bright country today? That is, the young missionaries Underwood and Appenzeller came to Korea and preached the gospel, which became the seed and made Korea as bright as it is today.
The great Roman Empire fell. Who were the people who rebuilt Rome? When Rome was in its heyday, Christians were severely persecuted, so they could not live on the earth, so they went into the catacombs, and the Christians who entered the catacombs established a new Holy Roman Empire. It was not the famous and virtuous bishop who made the decaying medieval Christianity anew, but the nameless monk Martin Luther.
Who turned your home into a blessed one? In the Confucian family, “How did that Jesuit come into our house?” The Jesuit daughter-in-law was blessed because of the Jesuit daughter-in-law who was suffering persecution and tribulation.
That's it. Healing Naaman is not a huge hospital. Naaman's leprosy was healed because of a young girl who was ignored and a female servant working as a nameless in that family.
Where is the path that can make our Republic of Korea new today? It's right there in the church. What are some ways you can make your home a blessed home? To all of you who believe in Jesus. You are the problem solvers. Because the church and the saints are serving Jesus who solves problems.
Last but not least, what did Elisha say to Naaman? It was going to the Jordan River and soaking it seven times. The history of leprosy was healed by obedience to the instructions and soaking the body seven times. When we are immersed in the problem of our sins, our various difficulties, and the blood that Jesus shed on the cross, our sins as red as crimson are washed as white snow, and our diseases are healed cleanly. Also, when I go out with a heavy burden under the cross, all my burdens are resolved. The smallest-looking cross, which the world can look down on and ignore, believe in the fact that the blood of Jesus on the cross makes us holy and solves our problems and the world's problems.
