Text: Luke 5:1-6
In 2007, in order to live by the Word of God, the church motto was ‘Only the Word’. Why should we live by the Word of God? This is because the Word has spiritual authority, spiritual life, spiritual power, and blessings.
“In the beginning God said, Let there be light, and there was light, and God saw that the light was good” (Genesis 1:3). This means that everything that exists in this world exists only by the word of God, the direction and permission of God.
Peter confessed, “To whom shall we go?” (John 6:68). I pray in the name of the Lord that the door of blessing will be opened by being supplied with this precious word, nurtured by the word, preaching the word, and living according to the word. Here are 4 things to do for this.
Stage 1 - Supply Stage "Let's become saints who read the Word."
Let's join the Bible reading movement with the goal of reading the Bible at least once in the entire church in 2007. Even if you believe in Jesus and become a deacon, a priest, or an elder, can you go to heaven without reading the Bible once in your life?
“Blessed are those who read the word and those who hear it, and those who keep what is written in them, for the time is near.”
Next year, you must take all the old and new medicines one by one. This supplement is too expensive to even count. Rather, we identify and award those who receive a lot on a quarterly basis.
Stage 2 - Parenting Stage “Let's become saints who learn the Word.
Paul told Timothy the son of faith, “Stay in the things you have learned and have been convinced of” (2 Timothy 3:14). In Acts 17:11, the Bereans were more gentle than the Thessalonians, so what they had learned from Paul was repeated through the Bible. You can see that you have grown your faith by checking it.
The church will also start educating new believers in 2006 from next week. The Bible study class is also scheduled to be conducted in stages with lessons at 10:00 pm and 8:00 pm on Tuesdays. I hope you will use this as an opportunity to organize the words you have heard through the sermons by having the opportunity to systematically and thoroughly learn.
Stage 3 - Evangelism Stage “Let's become saints who preach the word.”
Paul said, “Preach the word, in season and out of season, always be diligent” (2 Timothy 4:2). God wants everyone to come to salvation.
Jesus also said, “You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth, when the Holy Spirit comes on you” (Acts 1:8). “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” and teach them to observe all that I have commanded you. Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the world” (Matthew 28:18-20).
Step 4 - Step to be Blessed “Let's become saints who obey the Word.”
In the text, Peter shows obedience and blessing. When Jesus told Peter to go out into the deep and let down the nets for a catch, Peter said, “Teacher, we have toiled all night, and have gained nothing.” Confess and obey. Here “by” ‘ π epi)’, I - I will come down. χαλ σω (Calasso) These two words mean active obedience. Reluctantly, it contains the will of active obedience rather than compulsion. I would like to explain this in three ways.
① Obedience beyond common sense - Common sense makes no sense. Born on the shores of the Sea of Galilee and had been fishing with his father since childhood, the command to “cast down your nets into the deep” was a funny command, but Peter obeys.
② Obedience beyond emotion - He tried to catch fish all night, but he was exhausted, exhausted, and upset because he could not catch, but Peter, who valued the authority of the Lord's words more than his own position and emotions, nevertheless obeyed the Lord's Word and opened the net. got off This is true obedience.
③ Obedience at the risk of loss - It is inevitable to lose time, labor, and material to lower the net again in the yard where all the nets are washed and arranged. I got off though.
As a result, there was so much fish that the nets were about to tear, and a boat had to be mobilized to divide the fish.
“I bless those who have ears to hear what the Holy Spirit is saying to the church members.”
I pray that 2007 will be a blessed year by reading the Bible and being supplied with the Word, learning the Bible and being nurtured by the Word, preaching what you believe in the Bible, and obeying the Word of the Bible.
