These two were righteous before God, walking without blemish according to all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord (Luke 1:6).
I. Text Commentary
The reason why believers say that it is difficult to lead a life of faith means that it is difficult to live in obedience to God. Living in obedience to God's will is such a difficult task for human beings. However, in the text, the poet loves and obeys the Word, showing his supreme joy. However, if life is disobeyed apart from God's ordinances, the believer's soul will soon become defiled. Our nature is not suitable for a life of faith, and trying to live a life of faith only through external appearance causes a conflict.
II. beautiful spirit
A beautiful soul has a taste. Appearance is the property of being attracted to and rejecting something belonging to human nature. However, depending on when the soul is beautiful and when the soul is churn, the taste is different. When the soul becomes beautiful by receiving the grace of God, a new flavor is created.
A. Rejoice in the beauty of God
First, regrets about having enjoyed the things of the world when we did not know God rushed in. Now, we do not stop at seeing and enjoy nature in nature, but meditate on the beauty of God's existence beyond it. The taste of rejoicing in the beauty of God is created. This is the mark of a regenerated believer, who is happy and blissful because God is God. If you immerse yourself in a world that changes and disappears, it will only hurt and hurt you. Learning and realizing the truth of the Bible is an instrument for becoming one with God, and the Lord provides tools for you to enjoy.
B. Rejoice in the truth
A continual longing for truth arises, and the delight of truth arises. The Bible is the treasury of truth. Therefore, it is the noblest thing to find truth in the Bible than anywhere else. It is true that the more we realize the truth, the more we believers have to bear, and it is difficult to live according to what we have been taught, but in the text, the poet confesses, 'The word is sweet as honey.' The more we know the truth, the more the beauty of God becomes. because it is revealed. When we earnestly long for God, we can see the beauty of God, and when we see the beauty of God, we can love God more. The appearance of the beautiful soul is a constant longing for the truth. This is what God is looking for in man. A believer whose soul has a beautiful appearance has a nature to obey it. “The grace of God beautifies the soul, making it suitable for obedience to our very nature,” says Thomas Goodwin.
Ⅲ. Soul beauty and obedience
A believer with a beautiful soul has a taste for the Word of God and has a nature suitable for obedience, and is refined into a person who delights in and obeys the Word of the Lord.
A. Being taught
The characteristic of an obedient person is that they enjoy being taught. The ills of capitalist society lie in fierce competition and the pursuit of wrong means to gain wealth. However, what the church should teach is that it is the true moral of man, and that pursuing God and living a life of obedience to God is truly worthwhile. The psalmist confesses, "You have taught me, and I have not departed from your ordinances." A person with a beautiful soul like this actively seeks to be taught and actively obeys what is taught. This is because he has a longing to become more perfect. It is important to live with a constant desire to receive the teachings of God's Word. Being in the abundance of truth is not everything. You must have the desire to think about the truth you have in your heart every time, and to put it into practice in your life according to the truth.
B. Dual application
1) Found the rules -
Rules refer to the experiential principles realized by living according to the commandments, which are the rules of life. The more you discover the rules, the more wise you will become, and you will be able to live as a beautiful person to God. As a result, he becomes wiser and his quality of life improves.
2) Obedience with good will -
When a believer lives obediently to God with good will, his beautiful soul is preserved in the obedient life. God has given the believer two privileges, first, the provision of grace that constantly draws out the good will. But the problem is that we don't ask for grace. Second, He forgives sins endlessly. He makes it possible for the people in the covenant to recover no matter how promiscuous they are. When we sincerely repent of our sins and repent of our loss of beauty, God gives us grace to obey and depend on us. 2005-12-18
