Title Open Your Eyes (2 Kings 06:8-23)
Contents 1. There are no insignificant parts of the human body and there are no insignificant parts, but the eyes are really precious.
2. Is there any other painful thing like not being able to see? Therefore, seeing is really precious.
3. The physical eyes that can see the world we see are important, but the spiritual eyes are more important than that. We can only say that we have real eyes when we can see the spiritual world.
4. God gave Elisha special eyes to see the spiritual world. Let's all see what kind of eyes Elijah had.
I. He had eyes to know the enemy's plans (8-13).
A. I knew the plan of the king of Syria in advance.
1. The king of Syria was a king who persistently harassed Israel. His goal was to conquer Israel.
2. But strangely, his plan went awry. Despite thorough security and attention, it went awry over and over again.
3. As a result, I naturally thought that there might be a spy inside.
So, only innocent subordinates were suspicious.
4. However, he heard a strange word. It was said that there was a prophet named Elisha in Israel, who had the mysterious ability to detect even the king's words in his bedroom.
5. It was absolutely unbelievable. However, looking at the process so far, it was somewhat convincing. So, in order to achieve Y's own plan, he thought that he had to get rid of Elisha first. In any case, as the king of Israel, Elisha was able to overcome the crisis of death several times.
7. Therefore, the power of one man Elisha was equivalent to that of a million armies.
B. Let's not be afraid of the enemy's plans.
1. Satan always intends to torment God's people. But don't worry. The Holy Spirit protects the saints with eyes like flames.
2. God made Elisha know what the king of Syria was thinking in his head. Not only did he inform him about the already set plan, but he also made known what he had planned in advance.
3. No matter how much Satan tries to threaten and attack us, the saints must not be consumed by Satan when they see him. That is why the Bible says that those who want to die will live, and those who want to live will die.
4. Right now, the country is not at peace because of North Korea's nuclear problem. So if the talks with North Korea go well, the stock price goes up, and if the talks don't go well, the stock price goes down.
5. If all the saints believe and pray, God will protect this country. A person of faith like Elisha is needed.
II. I knew that there were more army in heaven (14-17).
A. The castle is besieged.
1. The king of Syria invaded Israel with heavy weapons, just as Iraq invaded Kuwait.
2. So Israel's borders fell. The center of Israel was besieged. It was done in just a few hours.
3. When the next day dawned, the Israelites had to witness the scene of terror.
Elisha's secretary saw the scene and was terrified.
4. Everyone was terrified, but Elisha was the opposite. There was nothing scary about him.
In verse 5.16, Elisha cried out not to worry at all. It was said that it was because we had more troops on our side. But in reality, Israel had only a weak army. 6. Elisha prayed. Lord, open the eyes of this servant! The secretary's eyes also saw huge fireballs and tanks of fire.
B. Let's defeat fear.
1. David defeated the giant Goliath. It was a victory achieved only through faith.
2. Now we have all kinds of enemies besieging us. 1) Some have fear of anxiety 2) Some have fear of material things 3) Some have fear of health.
3. When we judge only by looking at the reality we see, we are bound to be discouraged. However, if we just open our spiritual eyes like Elisha, we will experience the work of the Holy Spirit who is helping us.
III. Prayers were answered (18-23).
A. Make me blind.
1. Elisha prayed to the Lord. Lord, make their eyes blind.
2. Suddenly, the eyes of the soldiers became blind. What would they do if there were too many soldiers? They all turned to nothing.
3. Elisha shouted to them. You've taken the wrong way. Strictly speaking, Elisha is lying. But there is no need for ethical issues with the unrighteous. Ethics is what is needed when justice works. And in reality they You are on a road you shouldn't go.
4. Elisha led all the blind soldiers to a desert called Samaria. Then he prayed again. Now they may see again.
5. The king, who had been watching helplessly until then, asked if he would kill them all (21), but Elisha said to give them food to eat. Couldn't attack.
B. God hears our prayers.
1. If we believe and ask without doubt for the glory of God, God will hear our prayers.
2. China tried to build the Great Wall to prevent the invasion of foreign enemies, but failed to heal the weak spirits of the soldiers, so they opened the gates to the enemy. There are sometimes obstacles like the Great Wall on the way of the saints.
3. But there are no obstacles for us when the Holy Spirit is with us and guards us.
4. The Holy Spirit is fully present in those who believe and seek at this time. Let's become powerful saints.
