Content Overcoming obstacles/Luke 18:35-43
Key Verse: “Jesus said to him, Behold, your faith has saved you” (verse 42).
Word: Someone made this confession. He says that if he tries to do something strange, things will always get in the way. Now, if you do well on the Lord's Day and try to lead a faithful life of faith, important promises will surely come on Sunday. However, strictly speaking, I think that it is the life of that person, rather than an obstacle that appears because he is trying to do something. What these people need is determination. You won't be able to accomplish your plan of doing something without making bold decisions about your habits and behaviors. In other words, you can never grow without overcoming obstacles.
Let's meditate on today's Word. It is the tearful struggle of the blind. At that time, people believed that the cause of disability for the blind and disabled was the result of sin. So, from birth, I used to debate whether it was the parents or themselves who were at fault for the disabled people. I think these prejudices and misconceptions may have hurt my heart more than living as a disabled person. The blind man in the text sought and met the Lord in the midst of such prejudice and contempt.
Prayer: What are my stumbling blocks? May today be a day of blessing that overcomes that stumbling block. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
