Word: Dr. Brand, who volunteered for the treatment of leprosy patients in India, spoke of ‘a painless hell’. Rats enter the hospital room and eat the fingers and toes of leprosy patients, but the patients fall asleep without knowing anything. When Dr. Brand saw this scene, he thought, 'It's hell to not feel pain even when there is no pain!'
When God sends a signal to the body that says, 'I'm sick, I'm going to die!' God is protecting our bodies by giving our bodies millions of alarms for free.
Pain is the path to maturity. In verse 8, Jesus also learned obedience through suffering. Of course, Jesus was obedient even before he suffered, but he learned obedience through suffering. Jesus completed his qualifications as a high priest through suffering and obedience.
Through suffering Jesus progressed from a state of obedience to a state of acquisition, but through suffering we pass from a state of disobedience to a state of obedience (Psalm 119:67, 71). Normally, even if you live your life arbitrarily by sinning, if you get sick, you will be more alert and live a more upright life than in the past.
Gardeners do not give light and water for a while in order to make the roses bloom more abundantly. A rose that does not receive light and water falls one or two leaves, and at a glance it seems to be dying. But when the leaves run out, new life begins to move. It begins to produce softer leaves and begins to produce more beautiful flowers. When we suffer, we must be patient with humility (James 1:2-4). When we are in trouble, we must accept, not reject, help others with humility. When we suffer, we must love and forgive the perpetrators, not revenge them. “But he knows the way I go; and after he has tried me I will come forth as gold” (Job 23:10).
Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me to mature through suffering, and through maturity to heal my wounds and restore a prosperous life.
