Title Parable of ten minas/(Luke 19:11~27)
Content We have been studying the words of the Lord's parables for many hours.
We learned clearly that the heart of the parable is “the kingdom of God.”
And through the analogy, the character of the kingdom of God, the attitude of the people of the kingdom of God,
God the savior who seeks the lost, and about God's judgment,
We also studied the parables of heaven and hell.
Today, we will study the parable of the mina from the standpoint of concluding and concluding the study of this parable.
In order to properly understand the words of the parable, as we know well,
First, we need to look at the motive for the Lord to speak this parable.
Let's look at verse 11.
He came near, and they thought that the kingdom of God would appear immediately.
Here are two motivations for today's parable.
First, because Jesus Himself came near Jerusalem.
And second, because of the wrong thinking of those who followed Jesus.
In verse 28, the next verse of today's text,
“After Jesus had said these words, he went ahead of them toward Jerusalem.”
Jerusalem in the Gospels is the center of simple Israeli culture, society, and politics.
It does not mean the holy place where the temple stands.
Especially to our Lord, Jerusalem means the place of suffering, the place of death, and the way of the cross.
That is why Luke 9:51 says,
You did.
Jerusalem is not a place of glory for himself, but for the salvation of us sinners.
He came to tell this parable to clearly declare that the cross is the place of suffering.
And through this parable, the Lord said that the people of the kingdom of God are simply
It is not a being who enjoys blessings, but a person who has to work endlessly for the expansion of the kingdom of God.
We remind you once again that you are a missionary.
He used the parable of “mina” to teach us what to do and how to live as Christians on this earth until he comes back.
In today's parable,
A certain ghost goes to a distant country to receive the throne and bring it back.
At this time, ten servants are called.
And giving each one a mina, he says:
And left.
But looking at verse 14, the people did not like the nobleman, so
We sent messengers to say, We do not want this man to be our king.
I did.
Here we can get a glimpse of the suffering of the Lord, being rejected by people on the cross.
But in verse 15,
And with the mina, he calls each servant to find out how they traded.
The first person to report.
Also, the owner praises him and gives him the authority of five towns.
However, the person in question appears.
The third person gives a lengthy explanation of his circumstances.
For I am afraid that you are a strict man.
You take what you did not put, and reap what you did not sow.>
what does this mean
In short, isn't that a thief?
You are an unfair person.
So he was afraid, so he wrapped the mina in a towel and kept it well.
As long as his master is angry and rebuking the wicked servant, he takes the mina and gives it to the one who has it.
Giving you this, you say:
And bring here those enemies who did not want me to be king, before me
kill it.>
Perhaps it is similar to the parable of the talents in Matthew 25.
But if you think about it deeply, there is a big difference between these two analogies.
Talents refer to our gifts or talents.
The parable of the talents shows that God has given each person different talents.
God's method of evaluation is to expect a lot from those who give a lot and expect little from those who give a little.
However, the parable of the mina emphasizes the fact that all servants received the same.
In fact, if we look deeply into ourselves, there are more similarities than differences.
People who do not have faith, emphasize other points more.
What is your educational background, what is your gender, what is your character, etc. But we are all sinners.
We are all saved by the grace of Christ.
All the body will die.
However, they will all go to the kingdom of God and enjoy eternal life.
Although their talents are different, they received the same grace and blessings from God.
Also, God's will for us is the same.
There is no discrimination in this work of undertaking the Lord's mission.
Therefore, the most important thing that the Lord had in mind when he spoke this parable of mina was evangelism.
We are the Lord's witnesses.
So when the Lord left this world for the last time,
and teach them to observe all that I have commanded you.>
Dear saints!
How many people did you evangelize after believing in Jesus?
Ten, five, one. No, did not even one person preach?
So, what's the difference from a man who wrapped his mina in a towel and did nothing?
What did the Lord rebuke this man?
Did you know that he was a strict man who took and reaped what he did not sow? Then why?
Did you not put my silver in the bank?
If I had done so, I would have come and found the claim.” He said to those who stood by.
Take the one mina and give it to the one who has the ten mina. And they said,
Lord, I already have ten minas.
The master said, "I tell you, whoever has, will receive, and whoever does not have, he has
It will also be taken away.>
A person who does not evangelize is simply an evil servant.
And in the end, you lose what you have.
But here's something to seriously consider.
Why did this man not obey the will of the Lord?
The first is that they did not take the master's orders seriously.
The owner said clearly.
But this man did not take much of this master's words.
So I couldn't obey.
Why don't we do evangelism?
Because they do not take the Lord's commands lightly.
It is because they do not take evangelism seriously.
How precious is it to preach the gospel?
Is there anything more precious than this saving a soul?
Is there anything more urgent than this to be freed from the oppression of sin from the power and suffering of Satan?
How much is the Christian gospel worth to you?
The second is the fear of failure.
The characteristic of people these days is that they hate being insulted.
I like money, but I hate being insulted.
When you preach the gospel, you are naturally scorned.
You will be persecuted and criticized.
the apostle Paul
Being able.>
Blessed are you in times of rejoicing and rejoicing. great is your reward in heaven.
So they persecuted the prophets who were before you."
The third is due to a misunderstanding of the owner.
This man did not know the owner very well.
I didn't know what the owner wanted and liked.
I thought that if I mismanaged a mina and lost it, I would receive great rebuke.
But let's think deeply.
The Lord gives you power before you make it work.
It gives you the strength to bear it.
Everyone!
Where does the greatest miracle work appear?
It is a missionary field.
This is none other than a spiritual battlefield,
God works amazing miracles.
God is not a rebuke, but a helper.
He gives you the power to carry out your mission.
When we trust and rely on this good God, we will be able to boldly preach the Lord's gospel.
Someone divided our lives from 6 in the morning to 12 in the evening, and it is very realistic.
A 15-year-old is passing by 9:38 in the morning.
10:51 if you are 20, 12:04 if you are 25, 1:17 if you are 30, 4:56 if you are 45, 6:8 if you are 50, 7:22 if you are 55, 7:22 if you are 60 Ramen at 8:34pm
that's it
If you're 65, it's 9:47, if you're 70, it's 11 o'clock, and if you're over 70, you're already approaching 12 o'clock.
How much will you leave after business to give before the Lord?
The last moments of your life are coming closer, how are you living the life you are given?
