Path of Blessing - (2) Humility

Deuteronomy 8:16-19 ‘16. 17 He fed you in the wilderness with manna, which your fathers did not know, all to humble you and to test you, and finally to bless you. But you shall say in your heart, By my power and by the strength of my hand I have obtained this riches. 18 Remember the LORD your God, for he has given you power to obtain riches, so that you can keep the covenant that you swore to your fathers as today. to accomplish it together. - Amen.

Even if health and material goals are the goal, it is dangerous to fall into secularism, but the things that people do because they are poor, ignorant, and sick cannot be called blessings.

A believer in Jesus must do well spiritually and at the same time, he must do well in all aspects of life. This is called common grace, and God wants us to be saved both spiritually and physically.

A pessimistic preoccupation with material things and fame is wrong. So, the first sermon in the New Testament, the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 5:-7, is the 8 blessings. It is a spiritual, personal, and realistically more profound message than the Ten Commandments of the Old Testament.

Today, I would like to share with you a second word about humility as a way of blessing. What would be the humility to be blessed?

1. Lower your self

Text, 16. He fed you in the wilderness with manna, which your ancestors did not know, all to humble you and to test you, so that in the end God might bless you. You said you were training.

People use all kinds of excuses to show their righteousness. In reality, if it harms one's self, he can't bear his ego, and as a result of hard thinking and prayer, he sues the world's laws. Galatians 5:15 “If you bite and eat each other, be careful lest you perish one another.”

When a person becomes arrogant, he disregards God's law and acts arbitrarily, so the attitude of entrusting everything to him disappears. King Saul tried to kill David for no reason, but David prayed (Psalm 109:4).

Christian humility is surrendering oneself to God in all things.

Psalm 37:5-6'5. Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do it.6. He will make your righteousness shine like the light, and your justice as the noonday light.”

Job 22:29 “When people humble you, say you are proud, and God will save the humble.” When someone looks down on me, they say, 'Yes, I'm proud.'

2. Blessings come after you endure the test

God calls those who will be saved in life, and then there is a process of blessing.

Text, 16. ...to test you, and to bless you in the end.”

If you want to live by believing in Jesus, you have to have a different life goal and a different way of living, so your life choices are different. In the course of the chosen life, conflicts and persecutions follow naturally. These are tests that come to everyone, and you must pass them to receive blessings.

1 Peter 4:12-13 “Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial that comes to refine you, as if something strange happened to you. 13 Rather, rejoice in your participation in the sufferings of Christ, for you rejoice when his glory is revealed. and to make them rejoice.”

3. Those who put their blessings on God

To become a blessed person as a believer in God, we must be able to think deeply about the hand and work of God who saved us. A deep understanding of how the gospel came to me and how I was saved is necessary. If you think of salvation as an ordinary thing, you will not receive the hallway properly.

Deuteronomy 6:12 “Be careful not to forget the LORD, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.”

Text, 17. 'But you will say in your heart, 'I have obtained this riches by my power and by the strength of my hand' 18. Remember the LORD your God, for he has given you power to obtain wealth. I told him not to think that it was made by my own hands and remember God's guidance. This is what it means to become a blessed person. Likewise, we too will be blessed if we live while remembering the Lord's salvation.

We can win by following God's time schedule. You never win late. Relying on God and humbly waiting for His guidance seems foolish yesterday and today.

However, if you do everything you can to save your pride because you don't want to be foolish anymore, you will lose money.

The secret to victory in a vague and chaotic world is when we need the stillness to praise, thank, and rely on God with all our heart and sincerity, calmly and humbly.

Humility is never humble. Emptying oneself is not a world of selflessness based on nihilism in the Buddhist way, but an attitude of waiting for God's will to happen. I pray that humility becomes a channel of blessing and that you and I will receive grace every day.
