Paul's nickname/Acts 26:24-29

Today's sermon title is Paul's nickname

People have one or two nicknames when they are young and growing up. They have nicknames such as 'fat' because they're fat, 'sluggish' because they say they're chubby, or 'Norangi' because they don't spend money for others. What nicknames do you have? A person who is not ordinary and a little special must have a nickname. As in the text, the apostle Paul also had a nickname, so let's look at what nickname he had.

First, he had the 'great man' name, 'Saul', which he received from his ancestors. However, Saul changed his name to 'Paul', 'Little One'. The name was changed to mean 'the humble one'. In 1 Corinthians 15, he humbly called himself the sleeping Paul, saying, 'I am like a young man' and 'the risen Jesus appeared to me even when I was younger.

Second, according to Acts 24:5, 'This man is a plague' Paul's nickname is the plague. What is a plague? The truth is that it is terrifying. It says typhoid. Paul's fellow Jews, the Jews, called Paul a plague. Why did it get such a nickname? Plague is a highly contagious disease that spreads rapidly. In the past, people were quarantined when they got an infectious disease. This person is highly contagious. If you stay with Paul, you will become contagious and become a believer in Jesus. Just like a man who had a plague while preaching Jesus, the Sadducees who did not believe in the resurrection of Jesus and the Pharisees who did not believe in the redemption of Jesus on the cross came to believe in Jesus wherever he went.

God uses people who are filled with the Holy Spirit like Paul. The Apostle Paul witnessed Jesus Christ as soon as he met Jesus on the road to Damascus. Anytime, anywhere, to anyone, under any circumstances, in prison or in a free place, his life is only in Jesus Christ, and my pride is only in Jesus Christ, who died on the cross and rose from the dead. Saints of Bride Mountain! In the name of the Lord, I pray that all of us, like the apostle Paul, will be filled with the Holy Spirit, have nicknames that we can boast of, and be used by God as precious saints of faith.
