-summary-
The Apostle Paul did missionary work for the Gentiles with several co-workers.
Barnabas Luke Timothy Titus Mark… . These are the people who teamed up with the apostle Paul and worked together.
And at that time, the concept of mission was not as universal as it is today, but there were only a few churches working with Paul's mission team. Those cooperating churches participated in missions mainly through prayer. Among them, the Philippi church not only prayed, but also sent church leaders to the mission team to help, and actively met the needs of the mission team with material resources.
The Bible records the meaning of this help and cooperation of several churches, including the Philippian church, in God.
1. It is to become a co-worker (partner) of the gospel. (3 John 8 NLT English Bible)
It is said that welcoming those who work hard for the gospel into their home and serving them is their partner in spreading the gospel.
2. Sharing God's blessings. (Philippians 1:7 NLT English Bible)
It means participating in the joy, suffering, and hard work that comes from sharing the gospel, and sharing the blessings in the kingdom of God through this ministry.
3. After winning the spiritual warfare, when you share the spoils of war, you get the same portion. (1 Samuel 30:21-25)
Spiritual warfare is not fought alone, it is fought together. And when we share what we win in a war, those who participate in that war get an equal share.
Those who fought at the front and those who send supplies from the rear share the same share, and those who strategize and gather information share the same share with those who fight physically on the battlefield. Everyone who participates in the war will enjoy the victory of the war together.
That is why, sharing the gospel and building the kingdom of God together with prayer, toilet, service, and material means is missionary itself and participating in the work of Jesus. We are all walking the same path that Jesus took.
Therefore, God tells us that whatever we do in Christ, we must be of the same mind, be of one mind, and do the same thing in one faith.
