Wish (Philippians 2:12-18)

If humans are different from other animals, there are many differences, but one of the important differences is that humans have wishes that other animals do not have. Animals live by instinct, but humans live with wishes. I pray in the name of the Lord that you may have a great and valuable wish in your hearts who listen to the Word today.

The very important Paul's spirit is flowing in the text now.

First, Paul lived with the assurance of salvation and the fear of salvation at the same time. If we look at Romans 8, the assurance of salvation is clear. Although Paul is so sure of salvation, he is living with a fear of salvation. Look at verse 12, “Therefore, my beloved, always obey, not only in my presence but even more now in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling.” There is.

The second is that Paul has such a strong desire to be without blemish. Look at text 2:15. ‘...with no blemish and pure...the children of God without blemish...’ as a child without blemish. In 1 Thessalonians 5:23, Paul says this: 'May the God of peace... sanctify him completely... and be kept without blemish.' There is.

The willingness to dedicate one's life for the sake of the fourth saint is the thought flowing through Paul's heart. Let's look at 2:17. “If I offer myself as a drink offering on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I will rejoice and rejoice with you all.” I want to pour out my body for the saints like blood, water, and wine. For whom, for the saints... The Apostle Paul said in Acts 26:29 that he wants you to be like me, just as I resembled Christ. Who can say such a thing? I hope that you and I will live a life where you can tell someone to be like me.

Going back to the main text, there are three important facts that we need to realize through Sowon.

First, God is in us. Philippians 1:6 says, “He who started a good work in you...” That is, God is in me. In 1 Corinthians 3:16, “Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” How then does God dwell in man and in us? That's a mystery, so take a look. I have a disease. I threw this bottle into the sea. Then the seawater got into the bottle. So, is there a disease in the seawater? Is there sea water in the bottle? Both are correct. Matthew 18:20 also says, “Where two or three are gathered in my name, there I am in the midst of them.” God is right within us. Hallelujah

Second, God does not just sit still in us, but gives us a wish. It is found in text 2:13. “It is God who works in you, and he causes you to hope and do for his good pleasure.” I pray in the name of the Lord that your hearts will be filled with the wishes that God gives. In Moses' heart, God gave him a wish to liberate and save his people. According to Moses' wish, Moses saved his people from Egypt. Just as you risked your life and fulfilled your mission for that work, I pray in the name of the Lord that God's wishes will be filled in your hearts today as well.

The third is the fact that God's wishes will surely come true. Look at 1 Thessalonians 5:24. 'Faithful is the one who calls you, and he will also do it.' Philippians 1:6 says, 'We are confident that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion by the day of Christ Jesus.' , and that God will make your wish come true. Everyone, the wishes God has given seem to come true, but I hope you will believe that God will make them come true. So, I pray in the name of the Lord that your hearts will be filled with God's wishes.

But there are always pitfalls in life.

First, you must know that there are also wishes of the devil. Genesis 4:7 says, 'If you do good, how can you not be welcome What wish do you give me? Grasping the wish of sin. In John 13:2, it is recorded that the devil had already put the idea of selling Jesus into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son. In Acts 5:3, we read, 'Peter said to him, Ananias, why is Satan filling your heart? How much have you hid the price?' There are many people who have the wish the devil gave them and are still working hard to make that wish come true. Please be discerning.
