dream and faith
It is God who works in you, to will and to do for his good pleasure” (Philippians 2:13).
With each new year, many people have their own expectations and wishes. Those who plan a business, go to college, study abroad, or have other dreams of fulfilling their dreams are more earnest, but there are not many people who make those dreams come true. As long as we live, we long for something and want to achieve something, but some things make us happy and some things bring pain.
Let's listen to the words of Philippians 2:13 today. It tells us that God makes us do what is pleasing to us. In other words, when I have a plan and a dream that will please God, he will make it come true.
First we must have a dream. Among the Old Testament figures, there is Joseph, who can be said to be a shadow of Jesus Christ. He had a dream, and he is the one who made it happen. But the dream was not just for Joseph himself. His dream was a part of God's saving work to save all the children of Israel through him. Joseph became a great man who saved the nation of Israel from famine.
It is a dream to make a person great. What is important in childhood is not the environment or life conditions, but dreams. It is said that people without dreams will perish. Today, my circumstances or status do not matter. It is important to know whether I am dreaming, and even more important is whether the dream is a dream that pleases God. Have a dream that will please God.
Next, we need to have faith in the Word of God. Joseph believed his dream and knew how to pay the price. He did not give up his life or despair because he had faith and faithfully depended on God to make his dreams come true in times of pain and suffering.
When the Israelites who had left Egypt had faith, the Red Sea parted, living water came out of the rock, and they ate manna from heaven and were able to march toward Canaan. However, when he gave up his faithless actions and dreams, he wandered in the wilderness for 40 years and died.
The world of faith is beyond the reach of science, and we must acknowledge the amazing miracles that happen in that world of faith. I hope you have faith in the world of life of God who provides the whole world, and the work of God's power that can take place in it. From that faith, the work of new life takes place, the amazing events of salvation happen, and the unexpected and beautiful miracles happen. Trust the Word of God.
In 2001, open to us, let's have a dream. And let's have faith. We believe that when we have a dream that pleases God and have faith in the Word, the work of God's power will come to pass before us more abundantly, more abundantly, and more amazingly than we thought.
