The Chinese character ‘ ()’ was created after two people leaning against each other. Adam in the Garden of Eden was also lonely by himself, so Eve needed a helper. As such, everyone needs a co-worker (companion). This is also essential for fulfilling the work of Christ.

1. Timothy (verse 19)

Since Paul cannot go to Philippi himself, he wants Timothy to be sent instead. By having Timothy tell the Philippian church about Paul's recent situation, it was to comfort and strengthen the weak believers, and to be comforted by hearing about the situation of the Philippian church himself. Timothy was from Derbe or Lystra, her father was Greek, her mother was Jewish, and her grandmother was Lois. Paul introduced Timothy as “my beloved son in the Lord” and served with one heart for the sake of the gospel. Timothy also went to Thessalonica (1 Thessalonians 3:6), Corinth (1 Corinthians 4:17), and Philippi.

God's work is not done by one person. To care for the church, we must unite with others. Let's remember that setting up co-workers is a great work for the kingdom of God.

2. Epaphroditus (verse 25)

Epaphroditus was sent to deliver the donations from the Philippian church to Paul in Rome, and also to help Paul. However, he fell ill in Rome and was on the verge of death, but he was healed by the grace of the Lord, and he delivered the comfort that Paul received to the Philippian church. Epabroditus is introduced as a brother, co-worker, comrade, and ambassador who devoted himself without caring for his own life for the work of Christ.

How will we be introduced in the kingdom of God? I want to be praised for being a person who has achieved harmony in life and faith, is dedicated to Christ, and is honest and sincere. I hope you will look back on yourself to become a saint that is praised by God.

3. Paul

To Paul in prison, Timothy and Epaphroditus were indispensable co-workers. Nevertheless, Paul did not hesitate to send them away to relieve the concerns of the Philippian church and to share the joy. Since Epaphroditus was ill because he devoted himself without taking care of himself, he hoped that the Philippians would warmly welcome him back and share the joy. Unlike Paul, who did not lose his cool and strict attitude for the defense of the truth, he does not show meticulous consideration. Today, Christians pursue many spiritual things, but they have little interest in the church and the saints. If you truly want to live in the image of Christ, you must pay a lot of attention to the church and its members.

To experience oneness with the Lord, we must be willing to let go of our thoughts, feelings, and intentions. Even if our thoughts and feelings are right, our faith cannot grow if we hold on to them. I hope that you will become a saint who does not strive to reveal your own righteousness, but only God reveals it.
