Toward the goal (Philippians 3:12-16)
We are at the crossroads of leaving the old millennium behind and moving into the new millennium. The passage of time does not change, but the meaning is very great. It is like the difference between the inside and the outside of the church, but the meaning is very big. It's the last week of 1999. We must move forward with our goals in life with new determination and determination. The goal of life should not be something I set, but a goal the Lord has given me. When the Apostle Paul persecuted the church according to the wrong goal, the Lord changed the purpose of his life as an apostle for the Gentiles (Acts 9:15). Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob all lived according to the goals God had given them. The Lord also came into the world with the goal of saving mankind. Whether you are in business, studying, or whatever you do, your ultimate goal should be to glorify God. The Apostle Paul compared the life of faith to a race. (Hebrews 12:1,2) What must we do to receive the crown of victory in the race of faith?
We must first forget what is behind us (verse 13). There are past-oriented, present-oriented, and future-oriented people. Relying only on past success experiences will lead to failure. This is because the present is different from the past. Recalling only the memories of failure will cause you to lose courage and confidence and become frustrated. If you are caught up in the guilt of past wrongdoings, you lose your sense of direction. In other words, the illusions of the past give you a mental disability, and in extreme cases, you may even throw away your life. The present progressive person has no vision for the future, so if you are satisfied with the present, you are not interested in anything else. We are people who have received God's promises in the future. The Lord has forgiven my sins, gave me eternal hope, and gave me the power of the Holy Spirit. You have to run towards the goal ahead without being bound by the past. Peter denied Jesus three times
He visited and gave the call to “Feed my sheep” and did not say a word about the mistakes of the past.
Those who come to the Lord It is because the past has already been cleansed by the words spoken by the Lord (John 15:3).
you have to move towards.
Those who advance toward the goal must not settle for reality. "I'm not saying I've already got it
It does not mean that it has been accomplished at all” (verse 12), let go of the complacency of reality that it is enough to have succeeded this much.
It means. Those who want to settle for reality only see what they want to see and have no dreams. of faith
