Title Philippians 04:4-5 After the Resurrection
Contents After Resurrection
(Philippians 4:4-5)
Today we read the command to rejoice in the Bible.
This command is that all my beings should rejoice.
It doesn't fit with this saying to rejoice by hiding anxiety and worry in one corner.
1) An order to which no one is an exception
Today's command is given to everyone, regardless of whether they're sad now, those who say they don't need this command because they're happy, or those who are bright and positive or optimistic.
2) This command is given in the name of Jesus. So those who believe in Jesus cannot escape.
Why do we get discouraged when we hear only the name of Jesus? Because we belong to him now, and our present and future are under his sovereignty.
The reason that Jesus is the eternal Son of God, who made the heavens and the earth, is not the only reason.
That he can claim ownership over us because of the cross he bore. Therefore, even if we reject it, or even if we do not feel it, to have entered the path of faith in Jesus means that we have already firmly put on the cross thanks to the cross.
The way to always rejoice // The way Jesus gives
1. Jesus was full of joy while carrying the cross of pain and suffering.
He rejoiced because through the cross of hard suffering, a direct, inseparable relationship would be established with us. What is that strong, undeniable relationship?
John 15:13,14 / "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends; and ye are my friends if you do what I command you."
By dying for us on the cross, Jesus became our friend.
From being a servant, they are now friends. A servant does not know what his master is doing, but Jesus is pleased with the relationship in which he can tell his friends everything about the Father.
2. Through the cross of suffering, the way was opened to give us whatever we ask for.
Read John 16:23. “Until now you have asked for nothing in my name; ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.”
3. And furthermore, Jesus was able to give us his own joy.
The joy of Jesus was the joy that came from obedience to God the Father.
The joy of Jesus is not in splendor or in comfort.
The Inquisition, full of gruesome conspiracies and lies, groaning and suffering began from the bloody death of the cross, and was accomplished by the resurrection.
That is why this joy, dug out from the scene of death, is the most precious and precious joy in the world, and the most powerful joy. Jesus wants to give us this powerful joy of His own. As long as the joy of this powerful Jesus is within us, we will always be able to rejoice. Look at John 15:11. “I give this to you, that my joy may be in you and your joy may be full.”
So now we are "those who rejoice in the Lord."
It could be said that "those who rejoice only in the Lord, those who find no joy outside the Lord."
Why is the death and resurrection of the cross so great?
I pray that you will become believers today who experience the gift of joy
