Title Power (Ephesians 1:19-23)

People wish to have such great power that no one else can. It is human nature and greed to want to live as a being superior to others in this world by having such power. Competence is what every human being wants. Everyone wants to have the ability. It is a fact that these hopes and desires are appearing in the modern church under the pretext of faith. When we say power, we express it as power when it comes to healing the sick, raising the dead, and causing strange things. One of the things I'd like to argue to those who make that claim is, please drink the poison and try a snake bite. Still, if you live, you should think about it once. But does the Bible really express such a thing as power? Indeed, we cannot help thinking about what the Bible describes as power.

In today's text, the word power appears. Verse 19 says that the mightiness of the power and the exceeding greatness of the power, verse 20, that power was at work in Christ. What on earth is the power Paul is talking about? We have to look at what Today's text is one of Paul's prayers. What is Paul praying for now? It means that we want to open our eyes and see God's redemptive work. That is why, the word about power in the text is not like asking for power, longing for it, or trying to get power. The power of God is already working among us, and you should open your eyes and see how wonderful that power is, how great it is, and how amazing it is. That is, what power does God give us? It's not about asking for what kind of power we should have, it's that the power is already working among us. But you, who did not know it, now want to open your eyes and find out.

So what are those abilities? Verse 20, "His power worked in Christ, who raised him from the dead and made him sit at his right hand in heaven, exalting himself above all principalities and authorities and powers and rulers and all names that are named, not only in this world, but also in the world to come." put all things under his feet.” What ability is being described? That power was revealed in the resurrection. It is the power that Jesus raised from the dead, and he sits at the right hand of God. To sit at the right hand means to have all authority. That is why he put all things under his feet. This power is at work, and this power is working among us. To believe this is to believe. I believe that even if I die, I can be resurrected, and I also believe that all work is being done according to the will of the Lord. This is what ability is.

Do you know what a truly empowered person looks like? When only Jesus keeps getting bigger and the world seems smaller and trivial, this is what a person who has received real power looks like. Such a person is living a life of faith properly. It is the power to live an inconspicuous life other than Jesus. This power is at work among us now. Know that you do not receive this power, but this power is in your midst. This is it. So Paul wants us to see this power with our eyes. You saints, you are empowered. It already exists in the power of Jesus. That power is not the power for the world, but the power to live only toward Jesus Christ rather than the world. I hope you will win through this ability.
