Acts 2:42-47 "They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching, to fellowship, to breaking of bread, and to prayer. Everyone was afraid, but because of the apostles, many wonders and signs appeared, and all who believed were together, and all things were done. share with each other, sell property and possessions, distribute according to each person's needs, and strive to gather together in the temple every day together, bake bread at home, eat food with rejoicing and sincerity of heart, praise God, and bring all the people together. was praised by the Lord, and the number of those who were being saved increased day by day.”
The early church members did not become like the text from the beginning, but they received grace first and were transformed in this way. This is what we need to recover. This is the image of a person who is too precious to be overlooked in the sight of God.
The most perfect model of the Christian life is Jesus Christ. By following the teachings of Jesus, we become more like Jesus. The Christian life is about becoming like Jesus. Luke 4:14-15 “Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Holy Spirit, and rumors about it spread everywhere, and he himself taught in the synagogues, and was praised by all.” This is a beautiful model the Lord showed us. Jesus had the power, teaching, and praise of the Holy Spirit.
In the text, it is said to ‘be taught by the apostles’. The apostles taught as the Lord taught. They taught life change.
The word “associate with each other” includes the meaning of “helping each other.” 3 John 1:4 "There is no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in the truth." John 15:5 "I am the vine, and you are the branches; if he in me and I in him, this man bears much fruit." For apart from me you can do nothing.' Fellowship with the Lord is fellowship in the truth, and fellowship with Jesus.
The ‘breaking of bread’ is the Lord’s Supper, sharing the Lord’s body. 1 Corinthians 11:26 “For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.”
Mark 9:28-29 'When he entered the house, his disciples asked him in silence, why were we not able to cast out the demon?' There is none.” The difference between us and the early church members today is in prayer.
‘Everyone is afraid’ There must be fear of God’s presence in worship and praise. You must feel the presence of God.
Matthew 19:21 Jesus said, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.” It was difficult for the rich young man to live like this. But Zacchaeus lived on. Because you have been blessed.
If you look at the nine lives that appeared in the early church in the text,
1. There was the teaching of the apostles
2. There was fellowship and prayer
3. Because of the apostles, wonders and signs appeared.
4. Lived a life of sharing all needs
5. I lived a life of gathering in the temple every day,
6. There was joy and innocence
7. It was a life that glorified God.
8. He was praised by all the people,
9. The number of people being saved increased day by day.
When the modern church loses the essence of the Word, it is not praised by the world.
Today's sermon is called Ching, Giril Song. : To commemorate and honor merit- It is praise. Together, let's restore the essence of the Word that can generate praise.
1. When the essence of the Word is restored, praise will appear.
2. Praise comes when life changes.
3. There is praise in the power of the Word.
4. Praise brings true revival of the church.
1 Peter 1:7 “so that the trial of your faith, more precious than gold that perishes, even though it is tried by fire, may be found to be praise, glory, and honor at the appearing of Jesus Christ.” Luke 6:26 “Woe to you when everyone praises you. Yes, this is what their ancestors did to the false prophets.' There are good praises from God, but there are also paternalistic praises. This is bad.
