Text / Isaiah 62:10-12 Title / Prepare for Christmas.
The birth of Jesus divided history into B.C. and A.D. And history is History. became his story. As such, the birth of the Messiah is a major milestone in human history. Christmas comes back every year to commemorate this. Are we really looking forward to Christmas? And is the waiting really close to the essence? And whoever has this kind of waiting will probably not be able to greet a prepared Christmas rather than a Christmas that is greeted unintentionally. As it is said, “The kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it” (Matthew 11:12), God's grace longs for more, and because of that longing, it comes to those who prepare greatly. Then, what kind of day should we prepare for Christmas?
1. Christmas is a day of freedom (10).
2. Christmas is the day of salvation (11).
3. Christmas is the day of restoration (12).
Are we preparing for Christmas now? Are you preparing your heart to welcome the birth of Jesus with joy, not with external accessories? In order for the community to be healthy, both the social community and the church as a community of faith must be most faithful to their essence. This is because all problems actually arise when they deviate from their essence. In this sense, we should prepare the morning of Christmas with longing waiting through deep meditation on what kind of day Christmas really is.
