2 Peter 3:8-13 promise

Last Saturday, I went to visit Deacon Kim Chul-do's business place, who lives in Fort Macleod, late at night. The store usually closes around 11 o'clock, but as the number of customers decreased because of the Calgary Flame team's hockey match that day, Deacon Kim Chul-do told his wife Seong-ja Kim. "There are no customers today, so why not close the store early?"

Then, Deacon Kim Seong-ja answered. "Still, everyone in the village knows that our store is open until 11 pm, but we shouldn't close early because there are no customers. Our store is open until 11 pm personally, but isn't it an unspoken promise? "

I was deeply moved by Deacon Seongja Kim's answer to this 'unspoken promise' and returned to Calgary. And on the way home, I stopped at Staple in front of Chinook Mall, which has 24-hour photocopying, to make a copy of the bulletin at around 12pm.

But what is this? The store just closed its doors. It was probably closed early due to the Calgary Flame team's hockey game. I thought to myself, 'This is a disappointment!' I thought, 'This store has broken its unspoken promise!' Thinking and bitter, I turned back to the 24-hour Copy Center in Downtown.

But what is this again? This store also closed that night. Because the two stores couldn't keep their promise, I wasted twice, I couldn't even do a copy of Jubo, and my heart was broken as well. And once again, 'unspoken promises are very important!' I also learned a lesson.

Everyone, have you never made a promise in your life? And you think to yourself, how long do you think I kept that promise, and how much did I fail to keep that promise?

Of course, we all try to keep our promises, but sometimes we don't keep those promises. But if we intentionally break important promises or fail to keep promises too often, we become unreliable. And the one who unilaterally broke the promise will be hurt and the relationship between them will not be good.

I have a ten-year-old daughter named Joo-hee Kim. But every now and then, this child asks me and my wife, 'Promise?' used to say One of the means to steer the situation to one's own advantage is to use promises anyway.

At this time, my wife and I, in order not to fall into the snare of this promise, if possible, 'I can't make a promise.' say Because if you don't keep your promises, you can hurt your child's heart and put yourself in danger of becoming a liar.

In other words, promises that cannot be kept are not made for each other. However, parents often offer promises in order to instill in their children more certainty, or to lead them on the right path.

"If you clean your room well today, Dad will buy you pizza later." If you throw a promise like this, our child Kim Joo-hee will immediately try to clean the room. After all, it is good that the room is clean, and it is good that children have a cleaning habit, and thanks to this, it is good to eat pizza together, a sister is good, a brother-in-law is good, ditching, catching crayfish, one stone, two birds or one stone three groups can be achieved through promises. .

In other words, if you use your promises well and keep those promises well, you can build trust with each other and move on to a more developed world.

What do you guys think of our God? In response to this question, the wise man of faith says, "Yes, God is a God of promise!" A thought will come to mind.

Yes. God is the God of promise. God gives us the Old Testament

and the New Testament, the God of promise, who gave the old and new promises. And

The Old and New Testaments, the Old and New Testaments, are full of God's promises.

And because humans lack the ability and cannot foresee the future, sometimes we cannot keep those promises, but because God is omnipotent, He always keeps His promises to us.

What is the most important and best promise God has made to us humans? It was a promise to send Jesus Christ, the Savior, to this earth.

God has promised to give us eternal life through Jesus Christ, because fallen human beings and those who are condemned to death for their sins and to be punished by hell need life above all else.

So, whoever believes in Jesus Christ can have eternal life and live in heaven. If the God who made this promise were as incompetent as we are, and sometimes lied, we would say that believing in Jesus Christ is a waste of time.

They will also say that believing in Jesus Christ is the greatest failure of your life, and that you are deceived. But our God is not as incompetent, lying or deceitful as humans are.

God is truth. Therefore, if you believe in Jesus Christ, you will be saved and go to heaven and live happily ever after.

Also, God promised blessings and riches when they believed in Jesus Christ to those who were tricked by Satan to lose the Garden of Eden and live in poverty and curses. So, wherever the gospel of Jesus Christ is preached, there is always the riches, blessings, and prosperity that God has promised.

Also, knowing that human beings who struggle and suffer from numerous diseases need treatment, God promised us healing and health when we believed in Jesus Christ. Therefore, believing in Jesus Christ and being healed is not a superstition, it is the truth, and it is a precious gift and privilege for us who have obtained the promises of God.

Also, God promised to give the Holy Spirit to those who believe in Jesus Christ because humans who are captured by Satan want to lose their joy and become depressed, and because they are easily overwhelmed by the power of Satan. So, through the Holy Spirit, God's children are always happy, always thankful, and always happy.

And this promise was not only given to the people of Israel, but to all who accept Jesus Christ. Because of this God's promise, we can receive health, blessings and wealth, and joy and happiness even in this foreign land by believing in Jesus Christ. Even if we die in this foreign land, God's promise makes us heaven can enjoy eternal life in

If it were not for God's promise to me and you, we would be truly sad and unhappy. But keep in mind. We have God's promises. And God is the God of promises who always keep those promises, and we are the children of his promises. (Galatians 4:28)

Guys, what promise has God made to you? For those who say that God has not made any promises to me, have they not read the Bible, the book of promises, or have their spiritual ears and spirit eyes blocked?

But today, open your eyes and ears of spirit and take a closer look at the Book of Promise, the Bible. God came to us humans and made a promise to make us enjoy a better world, a more developed, and a more blessed life.

In Genesis 12, God made a promise to Abraham. ? will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, and you will be a blessing.??(Genesis 12:2)

It was because of God's bright and heartbreaking promise that Abraham was able to leave his hometown at the age of 75 and emigrate to an unknown world. Without God's promise, he would never have emigrated to a foreign land.

But holding on to God's promise and emigrating, he met a famine there. He was also ashamed of losing his wife. And Lot, his nephew, also suffered tribulation of becoming a prisoner of war, and the family problems caused by the discord between his mother and his second wife also approached.

Moreover, the son God promised to give to Abraham, who had no descendants, was not fulfilled even though 25 years passed and Abraham turned 100 years old.

What the hell is this? Has God forgotten the promise he made? Or is it because God can't keep his promise, so he sneaks out? Or did Abraham hear God's promise wrong from the beginning?

Why is God's promise not being fulfilled? 25 years have passed, and Abraham is 100 years old, so why is God's promise not fulfilled?

At this point, a normal person would say, "Hey, it's God's promise and I don't need it. I don't believe in God anymore." I might have said that. However, "Abraham believed in hope, in hopelessness, the God whom he believed, who gives life to the dead and calls things that do not exist as though they were. When he was a hundred years old, he believed even though he knew that his body was dead and that Sarah's womb was dead. He did not grow weak and did not have faith, so he did not doubt the promises of God, but was steadfast in his faith, giving glory to God and being convinced that he was able to accomplish what he had promised. (Romans 4:17-21, Hebrews 6:15)

Also, "Sarah, Abraham's wife, also grew old and gave birth, but through faith she gained the strength to conceive, knowing that the One who promised is faithful." (Hebrews 11:11) The Bible says.

In other words, in order to obtain the promises of God, we must endure trials and persevere. Regarding this, the Bible says:

"Blessed is the one who endures temptation. After being approved in this, he will receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to those who love him." (James 1:12)

?ou need patience, so that after you have done the will of God you may receive the promise.??(Hebrews 10:36)

Folks, "God's promises are not as slow as some think they are slow." (2 Peter 3:9) In due time, God will surely fulfill his promises.

So never let your faith weaken, backtrack, or give up. Rather, like Abraham, firmly believe in the promise and be patient with it, and receive the promise.

The Bible says, "If ye belong to Christ, ye are descendants of Abraham, and heirs according to the promise" (Galatians 3:29). Just as Abraham received the promise of God's blessing through faith, so we who believe in Jesus Christ are also people who have received the blessing from God as a promise.

So keep looking to God's promises. Look to the new heavens and new earth, in which righteousness dwells, as he promised. (2 Peter 3:13) In due time, God's promises must be fulfilled.
