Title: The Blessing of Those Who Serve Only the Lord
Text: (Psalm 112:1-10)
Hymns: Chapter 28. Descendant, the source of blessing
Date: October 9, 2010 (Sat) 5 am
Venue: Jeonju Yebut Church Small Worship Room
Introduction
(Text 1) says, “Hallelujah, blessed is the man who fears the Lord and greatly delights in His commandments.” Moses said, "Serve the LORD your God, and the LORD will bless your food and water, and take away sickness from among you. (Ex 23:25-26). Those who serve only the Lord are blessed.
What blessings does the Lord give us?
1. It is a blessing for descendants to prosper. (Verse 2)
“His offspring shall be mighty men in this world, and blessed are the offspring of the upright,”
That's right. There is nothing wrong with serving God. The psalmist said, "I was young and now I am old, and I have never seen the righteous forsaken, or their children begging for food. All day long he is gracious and lends, and his descendants are blessed" (Psalm 37:25-26). I did. After serving God, knowing that there is absolutely nothing wrong, we must become believers who believe more and more, so that the work of blessing ourselves and our descendants as well as ourselves will be revealed.
2. It is the blessing of living satisfied (verse 3).
“In his house are riches and honor, and his righteousness will be praised forever.”
3. It is a blessing given to our neighbors (verses 5-6)
“Those who lend to others while giving them favor, all will be well. Such a person is a person who handles things fairly. Such a person will never be shaken. The righteous are remembered forever.”
Moses said, "The LORD will open for you the beautiful treasury of heaven, and he will make your land rain in its season, and he will bless you in all the work of your hands. He will make you the head and not the tail; only above and not below” (Deuteronomy 28:12-13). To save is to give. Giving what I have to others without condition. The more you give, the more blessed you become (Proverbs 11:24-26). And in the future you will have true life (1 Timothy 6:17-19). This is a blessing that comes from serving God.
conclusion
When people saw Isaac, who believed in God, they said, "You shall not harm us, for we have not done you wrong, we have done good to you, and have made you go in peace. Now you are blessed by the Lord" (Genesis 26:29). As we also serve God, I hope that our descendants will prosper, lead a satisfying life, and become blessed people who live by giving to others.
