Text: (Psalm 116:1~19)

Hymns: 407. I died with the Savior

Date: June 26, 2011 (Sunday) 5 am

Venue: Jeonju Yebut Church Small Worship Room

Everyone goes through hardships at some point in their lives through adversity and hardships. It could be a matter of material things or it could be a matter of health. The question is how to overcome adversity. Today's text shows how to overcome hardship. Let's look at the word together.

1. The poet who pleads (verses 1-2)

The poet is in the midst of death, pain and sorrow. What he did in a time of trouble was to cry out to God. The reason he cried out and prayed to God was because he was convinced that God heard him and saved him. The poet knew that God heard his prayers. So I decide to pray to God for the rest of my life. He was convinced that if he prayed to God over the problem of suffering, God would deliver him. The problem is not the difficulties ahead of us. It is not praying. If we believe and depend on the God who saved me from sin and the God of Ebenezer who helps us, we will pray earnestly in the face of difficulties.

2. The poet who is saved (verses 8-9)

In prayer, the poet realizes again that God's disposition is gracious, righteous, and merciful, and gains strength. He experienced the grace of God that saved him from the worst of hardships. God saved him from suffering like death and Hades. With God's help, peace came to the poet again. Through Jesus Christ, God has saved us from the fear of eternal death and has given us eternal life. By freeing us from our slavery to sin and death, He allowed us to obtain true peace and made us eternal children of God. Therefore, the saved saints should praise God, give all glory to Him, and live worthy of His will.

3. A poet who gives his life (verses 14, 18)

The poet, who was rescued from suffering by God's salvation, now decides to walk before God. His determination is obedience. Now, no matter what great troubles you face, you decide to believe in God and follow His Word. He decides to entrust his life to God. The poet believed that if we earnestly ask God, He will lead us for good. He didn't depend on anyone. Humans are not objects of faith, but objects of love. Only God can be trusted and depended on. It was this conviction that gave the poet's life to God. God has saved us. Now it's our turn to do it. We must surrender everything to God and obey Him. I must entrust all of my problems and circumstances to God. Decide to obey God now. Become believers who completely entrust their bodies and minds to God.

In the face of suffering, people are divided into those who have faith and those who do not. A person who has faith trusts and prays in God in the face of suffering. People who do not have faith try to solve it on their own. Who are we? Trust God. Then you will experience the salvation of the Almighty.

<Prayer>

1. Look to the Lord and ask for help and depend on Him!

2. May the anointing of the Holy Spirit be filled in all worship!

3. Send me a new family and let the joy of salvation overflowing from receiving Jesus!
