Title: Give thanks

Main text: (Psalm 118:19-29)

Hymns: 492. For a moment in the world I live

Date: June 30, 2011 (Thursday) 5 am

Venue: Jeonju Yebut Church Small Worship Room

The apostle Paul said, “In everything give thanks.” He lived a life of gratitude in any circumstances. Here's another thanks. The poet of the text. I hope that we also have time to sing a song of thanks to God while listening to the poet's song of thanks.

1. Give thanks to the Lord! (verses 19-21)

The poet tells us to open the ‘door of salvation’. The gate of salvation refers to the gate of the temple. This gate was also called “the gate of the Lord” because the justified people come before God. His purpose in entering the temple is to give thanks to God. The poet thanked God for the grace of salvation by answering his prayer, which he prayed earnestly during his suffering. We are all those who enter the door of salvation, the door of the Lord. God has given us salvation through Christ. Thank you for the grace of salvation and please enter the door of salvation. Enter the door of the Lord. And give thanks to God for salvation there and answering prayers.

2. Know what the Lord has done! (verses 22-23)

Although the poet was despised and persecuted by those around him, he was honored by God's salvation. The stone that the builders rejected became the cornerstone of the house. People rejected him and forsaken him, but God chose him and made him a precious servant of God's kingdom. God saved mankind through the cross that looked foolish to human eyes and the cross that was a symbol of curses. This is truly an amazing providence of God. The poet informed the people of the amazing things that had happened to him. God saved us from sin through Christ and made us precious people in the kingdom of God. God still chooses the outcasts of the world and uses them for His wonderful work. We must make such a providence and deeds of God known to all nations.

3. Worship the Lord! (Verses 24-29)

The poet rejoices and rejoices, saying that the day he was saved is “the day the Lord has set apart”. It is natural for us to rejoice and rejoice because ‘the day we are saved from suffering’ is the day of victory. The poet who proclaimed the Lord's Day confesses, "The Lord is God, and He has given us light" and gives thanks. God also shed light on us who were in darkness through Christ. Saints who have been chosen and saved by God must worship in the name of Jesus and confess God as their savior. God will continue to protect and help those who exalt and praise His name. We hope that we will praise God who accomplishes complete salvation.

The poet begins this psalm with thanks and ends with thanks. Because God-fearing people experience His grace, they are bound to praise Him anytime, anywhere. Thank the Lord. A good and loving God will be with us forever.

<Prayer>

1. Always give thanks to the Lord for protecting me during the first six months!

3. Heal the weak believers quickly and lead them to the place of worship!
