Title Psalm 118:5-12 God Helps Me
Contents Psalm 118:5-12
Fear of swine flu is spreading around the world, and it is said that more than 10,000 people have been infected in Korea. Various events have been canceled and schools and public places are in a state of emergency. How do we respond when fear and fear strike us? First of all, it is important to know who the God we believe in is. Through the text of the text, we find out who God is.
First, God is a God who responds. “I cried out to the Lord in my distress, and the Lord answered and set me up in a vast place” (verse 5). He is the God who answers us in our pain, answers us in our peace, and answers our prayers in our daily lives.
The psalmist writes, “The cords of death surround me, and the afflictions of Hades come upon me, and when I met tribulation and sorrow, when I prayed in the name of the Lord, did you deliver my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling? It is” (Psalm 116:3-8).
He is the God who has answered the prayers of all the saints in every crisis in the country until now. It is also God's response that He helped us get out of the IMF foreign exchange crisis faster than expected and the global financial crisis that started last year.
Therefore, we must unite and pray that the H1N1 flu will disappear soon. Suffering is not only bad for us, but also has many benefits. God, who always works together for good, has a history of prospering even in the midst of a recession, and prospering even in bad times. Some places such as tourism and event companies are having a really hard time due to the H1N1 flu, while the industries such as hand sanitizer, thermometers, and masks are enjoying special occasions. With regard to the H1N1 flu, we must do our part and respond boldly, believing that the Lord has healed us by being whipped.
Second, God is on my side and helps me. “The Lord is on my side, and I have no fear; what can people do to me?” (verse 6) Even if someone with money and authority is on my side and helps me, it will be a great help. How powerful would you be? Therefore, the psalmist confidently confesses, "Thousands will surround me, but I will not be afraid" (Psalm 3:6). What problem do you have now? Don't worry. Don't be afraid. The God of hosts is on your side and helping you.
So what should we do? We pray to God who answers us and is on our side to help us, in the name of Jesus.
Dear saints,
Now is the time to pray for our country and people more than ever. First, pray for the president and government officials and the North Korean nuclear issue to be resolved for good, exchanges between the two Koreas to be revitalized and unification through the gospel, so that the H1N1 influenza epidemic can subside and find stability quickly. We must pray that we become a nation.
