Psalm 119:1-16 / Blessed is the man
* Psalm 119 is also the longest chapter in the Bible...
& [How important is the life of God's Word and meditation...]
& what it teaches us.
- Also in today's text - Blessed are those who obey the word of God.
& It is said to be a person who keeps and pays attention to the word of God.
* Through today's text / What kind of God is... What are the lessons he gives me...
& Let's think about a few things.
1. Verses 1-2
* Everyone! Who is a lucky person?
- A blessed person // is not one who has or has accomplished much.
- Blessed are // successful people - not.
** Who is lucky?
1) The law of Jehovah = A person who follows God's word - Blessed is the person.
2) And, those who keep the word of God - Blessed are the people.
3) Blessed are those who seek the Lord with all their heart - who fear God.
** why?
- Because God's Word, / God - is the source and source of blessings,,, / Yes.
- not temporary prosperity and prosperity
& When we abide in the Word - our life's pipe is connected to God...
& you will receive / power, grace and blessings from God.
* The Psalms / Starting with Psalm 1 - it teaches who is a blessed person...
- Blessed are the people / in the 1st part - As we sang, [Those who meditate on the Word day and night]
& What has to do with the Word of God - we find out.
* Dear friends!
- We all want to be blessed. / I want to receive God's grace.
- However, (even though I want) the relationship between blessing and the Word - I do not think.
** Dear friends!
- I hope that you will yearn for the Word of God even more.
- To understand God's Word - Wrestle...
& And, to live according to the enlightened word - there must be a struggle.
& When that happens, God blesses you.
2. Verse 3
* We believe in Jesus and live our life of faith...
& I don't want to do iniquity / I want to do the Lord's way completely.
& And, that's how I'm supposed to live - I know.
** By the way, did we (honestly) live like that?
- Our problem today is - [I don't know] not a problem
& I know - that I can't live as it is - that's the problem.
** why? - Why can't we just live with it?
- Because I do not have the ability to live - according to the truth, / according to the word of the Lord.
& I don't have the power to control myself.
* By the way / When - When will we have “the strength to live according to the word of the Lord and according to what we know”?
- If the word enters me... //
& the closer I get to the Word - the more I can do no injustice / and the more I can walk the way of the Lord.
& there will be power.
<You are feeling this while we are doing the Bible reading exercise these days, right?>
* Dear friends!
- Do you want to live well? / Do you want to live strong?
- Then eat well.
- The word, which is spiritual food, - we need to draw closer / and meditate on it.
** Why do you get tired of doing your work (rather than needing strength)?
- This is because work precedes the Word / and work precedes prayer.
- If you are working with no time to read the Word / no time to pray - Reduce what you do.
- I don't always pray
& “When are you going to leave?” - That's always a concern.
& And, I left it to you - trust!! I don't.
<Nothing good can come out of that. / There is no choice but to appear >
* Dear friends!
- Never / Please do not take precedence over the Word or prayer.
- Before doing the Lord's work - Be sure to have enough time to stay in the Word / work.
3. In today's verse 9, similar words appear.
Verse 9
** (This is a saying we know well...)
- “These words are for young people” / If you think so, / you must not.
* What kind of existence is [Youth]?
- Youth means - the most powerful period.
- It is a time when you seem to have the power to do anything.
- No matter what kind of test comes / it seems to have the power to overcome it.
** By the way, such a young man who has the most strength / ability...
& by his own power - that he could not clean / the conduct.
** What should I do?
- When we meditate on the word of the Lord / and keep it according to the word of the Lord...
& that his conduct can be cleansed.
* Dear friends!
- In the midst of this world / your children, your husband, your wife
& Don't get swept away... Want
- Repressing / scolding - doesn't mean you won't be swept away by temptation.
- Only when the Word enters it - You can overcome it.
** How / can our children be closer to the Word? / Shall we abide in the Word?
- Pray and ponder. // So, please make it always~ in the Word.
4. Verse 5, Verse 8
* Now the writer of the psalm is in trouble. / You seem to be in the midst of desperation.
** What do ordinary people do at times like this?
- When something is urgent - Rather than following the principles of the Word /
& to get out of that urgency / & cheat / cheat /
& going in a way that God doesn't want - it's going to be easy.
* By the way, what does the psalmist confess today?
- God is in such a difficult situation / Even in such a desperate situation...
& “I will put the word into the way.”
& “I will keep your word.” - I confess so.
** It's never / an easy confession, is it?
* But / how is such a confession possible?
- According to verse 6 // When we do what the Lord says - God will not put us to shame
& I had the belief that God would never forsake those who obey the word.
& confessed like this.
* Dear friends!
- Today, this confession of faith - I hope it becomes your confession.
- People of faith / who can act according to the word of God in any circumstance
& wish you all.
