Introduction
Why can we rejoice every day?
1. Because it makes impossible things possible (verse 1).
“When the Lord returned the captives from Zion to Zion, we were like dreamers.”
This means that you saw it in a reality that could only exist in a dream. In other words, you did something incredible. Being released from the Babylonian captivity is like a dream no matter how much you think about it. So it is impossible not to be happy. In this way, if God pleases us, we cannot help but rejoice.
2. Because he does great things (verse 2).
“Then our mouths were filled with laughter, and our tongues filled with shouts of praise. At that time the people of other nations also spoke. “The Lord has done great things for them.”
God always does great things. This is all for the saints. The problem of gaining salvation is one of the great things, and eating and drinking while living in the world is one of the great things. But how happy is it that God is doing all these great things? (verse 3)
3. Because He rejoices after suffering.
“He who sows with tears reaps with joy. He who goes out weeping to sow seeds returns with joy with an altar.”
This means that crying in Christianity is different from crying in society. In society, crying is known as crying because of misfortune, but in Christianity, crying is known as crying as a preventive measure to prevent misfortune. So Jesus Christ said, "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted" (Matthew 5:4). Weeping while repenting of a sin is more precious tears than weeping while committing a sin. In Christianity, suffering now is not worthy to be compared with future glory (Romans 8:18). The secret of suffering can only be understood by those of a higher faith.
conclusion
The reason we can always rejoice in the midst of suffering is when we see God live and do things that we can't believe. It is time to do great things for us and to experience that there is always comfort after suffering.
