Introduction
Jesus said that a tree is known by its fruit (Matthew 7:16-19). And the writer of James said, "As the body without the soul is dead, so faith without works is dead" (James 2:26). So, perfect faith is said, “Faith worked together with his works, and faith was made complete by his works” (James 2:22). All these sayings say that good faith is not only in words, but also in deeds.
So, what does a person with good faith look like?
1. I am not proud (verse 1).
“Lord, now I have given up my pride. I turned back from an arrogant road. I don’t go out of my way to get too big, and I don’t even try to accomplish amazing things that overflow with rage.
This means that a person of good faith can never be arrogant. Pride is the monopoly of people without faith. Pride is said to be the forerunner of destruction and the forerunner of falling (Proverbs 16:18). And God rejects the proud and gives grace to the humble. Therefore, a proud person cannot have good faith.
2. Live a peaceful life (verse 2).
“Rather, my heart is still and peaceful. As a weaned child is in the arms of its mother, so is my soul like a weaned child.”
A person of good faith has no worries or fears. And there are no worries or worries. It is always living in peace and in the hope of the future life. Jesus Christ said, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not be afraid" (John 14:27). . There is no reason for a good person to not be at peace.
3. Live a satisfying life (verse 3).
“Israel, from now on and forever, trust in the Lord alone.”
Man's satisfactory life cannot be achieved solely with material things. It is only possible when we live with God. The hymn writer said, 'Do I have any other worries in the Lord, I went to the bottom of the cross and unpacked my burdens'. That's right. You can live a satisfying life only when you live the reality without complaint in the hope of the future life in the Lord. A person with good faith does not have great greed for material things, and lives a life of caution, figuring out how to live for the glory of the Lord every day. If you are greedy for material things, you will fall into temptation and you will not be able to avoid living a life of constant anxiety and suffering (James 1:14, 1 Timothy 6:9-10). However, those with good faith are those who realize that they cannot take anything with them when they were born, and that they have enough to eat and wear and need (1 Timothy 6:6-8). A person with really good faith lives with joy always, praying without ceasing, and giving thanks for everything (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18).
conclusion
People with good faith have a different life. He is not arrogant and humble, and he gives grace to many people, and he always enjoys peace and lives a satisfactory life in the Lord. This is the life of a person of good faith.
