Title: Finding the Ark

Text: (Psalm 132:1-18)

Hymns: 93. Jesus is my strength

Date: November 2, 2010 (Tuesday) 5 am

Venue: Jeonju Yebut Church Small Worship Room

Introduction

David worked very hard to find the ark of God. He did not go into the house or sleep properly to find the ark, and devoted all his heart to finding the ark (1-5).

What did David do to find the ark?

1. I did my best to find it. (Verse 6)

“When I heard in Ephrathah that the ark was there, I found it in the field of Jair.”

He who asks receives, and he who seeks finds (Luke 11:9-13). David tried to find the ark with all his heart, so he found what he wanted. God always grants wishes to those who work hard. If the saints do their best for anything, they will surely experience the purpose of being fulfilled. You will taste not only the ark of the covenant, but also the great and wonderful grace of God.

2. After seeking, they worshiped (verse 7).

“Let's go to where he is. Let us bow down and worship at his feet.”

He did not seek to find the ark and use it as the guardian deity of his family, but worshiped God centering on the ark. The ark symbolizes the presence of God. In other words, where the ark is, it symbolizes the presence of God and offers sacrifices to serve God. So the Israelites handled the ark with care. David did not want to find the ark and leave it there, but to continue worshiping God centering on the ark. Today's saints should not attend church just to go to church, but should attend church to worship God. Having the Bible is not for reading, but for hearing the word of God.

3. Let's have fun together. (Verses 8~9)

“Lord, get up and eat where you will rest. Eat there with the ark of the Lord's power. Let your priests do righteous deeds, and your saints may shout for joy.”

When David found the ark, he found new strength in his faith. So I prayed to God, that you may rest in peace where your ark is. And all the saints shouted to serve God while praising God with joy. Anyone who waits for the Lord will be refreshed, glorifying God more and praising the Lord with joy. And not alone, but together as a family unit, and as a church unit as a community, glorifying and praising God. That is, to glorify the Lord through public worship. This is the attitude of those who seek God.

conclusion

David tried very hard to find the ark. So they found the ark and worshiped God with the ark as the center, and cried out to all the saints to praise God.
