Introduction
I have already talked a lot about the reason for praising God, so I will omit it and talk only about the content of the text.
Why should we praise the Lord?
1. It is because God has given you grace (verses 1-3).
“Hallelujah, praise the name of the Lord. Praise the Lord, servants of the Lord. You who stand in the house of the Lord, in the courtyard of the house of our God, praise the Lord, for the Lord is good. He is gracious; bless his name.”
Because the Lord saved us freely and paid for our sins. Because praise is the fruit of the lips of the redeemed saints.
2. It is because he made you his own (verse 4).
“The Lord has chosen Jacob as his own, and Israel his most precious treasure.”
Although we are all sinners, how can we not praise God for choosing and redeeming us, making us His own, and giving us the heavenly inheritance? The author of the book of Isaiah said that God created, redeemed, owned and protected (Isaiah 43:1-3). Therefore, it should be praised.
3. It is because He has given us great salvation (verses 12-14).
“The Lord gave the land to his people as an inheritance, and he gave it to his people Israel. Lord, Your name will shine forever. Lord, your remembrance will continue from generation to generation.” The Lord defends his people and comforts his servants.”
This is a reminder of the deliverance of the Israelites from Egypt. Since we have been saved from iniquity, we deserve praise.
conclusion
To praise the Lord is to think of the grace of redemption, to think of his possessions, and to praise the Lord in gratitude for the great salvation.
