Title: All-Knowing God

Text: (Psalm 139:1-24)

Hymns: 90. Lord Jesus before I knew

Date: November 10, 2010 (Wednesday) 5 am

Venue: Jeonju Yebut Church Small Worship Room

Introduction

God is omnipotent and omniscient, and there is nothing he does not know, and there is nothing he cannot do.

What does God know?

1. He knows my deeds (verses 1-3).

“Lord, you have searched through me, and you know me well. Whether I sit or stand, the Lord knows. Even from afar, you know my thoughts. Whether I am on the road or lying down, the Lord is watching, and He knows everything I do.”

It is very dangerous to think that there is something God does not know. There is nothing you don't know. So nothing can be hidden and nothing can be hidden. Therefore, honest confession is the shortcut to being forgiven and the secret to receiving grace.

2. He knows what I say (v. 4).

“Even if I use my tongue to say nothing, the Lord already knows what I am trying to say.”

So it was said that the words I put into my ear were shouting from the roof. We whisper, but in the sight of God, we shout on the roof. So, you have to be careful with your words. The author of Ecclesiasts said, "Do not open your mouth recklessly before God, and do not speak with a hasty heart" (Ecclesiastes 5:2). Especially when making a vow to God.

3. He knows that I have sinned (verses 7-10).

“Where shall I go from the Spirit of the Lord, and where shall I flee from the face of the Lord? Even if I ascend to heaven, the Lord is there; if I spread out my bed in Sheol, the Lord is there. If I fly over the east, or go to the west of the sea and stay there, even there your hand will guide me, and your right hand will hold me strong.”

God knows every human sin. He knew that Adam sinned and hid, and he knew that Cain had killed his brother. Therefore, you cannot hide your sin, but you cannot avoid it by sinning.

conclusion

So, it is far more beneficial to put aside the foolish thoughts of deceiving God, to confess frankly and to receive forgiveness. That's why the Apostle Paul said, "Do not deceive yourself, for God is not taken of all; whatever a man sows, that he will also reap" (Galatians 6:7).
