Introduction

David's prayer is multifaceted. Sometimes I prayed like this, sometimes like this. Let us consider only what appears in the text.

How should we pray?

1. I prayed out loud (verse 1).

“I lift up my voice and cry out to the Lord. I raise my voice and plead with the Lord.”

I know that there are many ways to pray. I know that there are silent prayers, there are prayers offered out loud, and there are various types of prayer. Therefore, it is very difficult to say that only one attitude is correct. But I know that it is good to be virtuous at the right time. Bartimaeus cried out and called on Jesus, and many people rebuked him. However, he still cried out, and with the help of Jesus, his wish came true and his eyes were opened (Mark 10:46-52). It cannot be concluded that praying out loud is wrong, but it would be good to make those who pray become virtuous.

2. I prayed for injustice (verse 2).

“I appeal to the Lord for my injustice and report my pain to the Lord.”

David offered a prayer to reveal all of his complicated problems to God without hiding anything. Believing that only God can solve all problems, I prayed to tell God about the complicated and frustrating problems that I could not help but suffocate. This is the prayer of faith. God expects the saints to pray to Him when all difficult problems arise, and He hears and answers the prayers of those who pray (Jeremiah 33:3).

3. I believed in the answer and prayed (verse 7).

“Bring my soul out of prison, that I may praise your name. The Lord has shown me abundant grace, and the righteous will surround me.”

David believed that God would hear and answer his prayers. When David prayed, he prayed knowing that God would answer him. Jesus Christ said, "Whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours" (Mark 11:24).

conclusion

David was a man of many prayers. Every time he prayed, he took a variety of ways, honestly told God everything and prayed, believing that what he asked would be answered. We also want to become people of prayer.
