Psalm 146 "Hallelujah, my soul, hallelujah"

This psalm is the first of the last five Psalms, "The Psalm of Hallelujah". These five "Hallelujah Poems", which begin with Hallelujah and end with Hallelujah, are nothing but praise, thanks, and praise to God without any screams or supplications. The last confession of believers should be nothing but praise, thanks, and praise to God without any screams or petitions.

1. "As long as I live, I will praise the LORD; I will praise my God all the days of my life." (1-2)

"My soul" (1). Here the poet first commands his soul to praise God. The praise of the lips is important and the praise of the body is important, but the praise of the soul is the most precious.

"In my lifetime" (2). From time to time, without praising him for a while, he declares that he will praise God for the rest of his life and all his life. Decide to continue praising God before you die, while you live, and throughout your life. It is because his heart is filled with gratitude and emotion for the grace and love that God has bestowed upon him. Blessed are those whose praises continue throughout their lives.

2. "Blessed is he who makes the God of Jacob his help." (3-10)

"Do not trust in princes" (3). The poet here gives reasons for praising God. This is because people cannot be trusted, but God is forever. This is because, of course, the princes (powerful people) are impermanent beings who do not have the power to help anyone, but God is the eternal One who can help Israel. The reason the poet praises God here is that he has become a blessed person who trusts in God, has God as his help, and puts his hope in God.

“The Lord made the heavens and the earth and the sea and everything in them” (6). Here the poet confesses what kind of God he praises. First, the God he praises is the Creator of the heavens and the earth. God is the One who created the heavens and the earth and keeps them faithfully. Second, the God he praises is a merciful One who has mercy on creation and humankind. In other words, God governs the oppressed with justice. God gives food to the hungry. God liberates the prisoners. makes the blind see exalts the lowly. He loves the righteous, that is, those who believe in the righteousness of God. protect your guests sustains orphans and widows perverts the way of the wicked. In other words, the Lord God whom he praises is the One who reigns over the creatures and human beings he has created from generation to generation forever and always gives grace like dew and rain. Therefore, it is "Hallelujah."

"Hallelujah" (10). We too, deeply experience Jehovah God, who created and governs all things in the universe, and who shows mercy and grace to creation and human beings. Let's praise God. A person whose praise continues throughout life is truly a blessed person.
