Introduction
Since most of the psalms are hymns to God, it is unavoidable to repeat the title of giving praise to God over and over again.
Why should we praise God?
1. Because praise is beautiful (verse 1).
“Hallelujah, how good it is to praise our God, and how beautiful and proper it is to praise God!”
It is very beautiful for the saints to praise God. So we should praise God as long as we breathe because it is beautiful to realize the grace of redemption and to praise the Lord with gratitude.
2. Because it shows thanks (verse 7).
“Sing a song of thanks to the Lord. Sing to our God on the harp.”
The grace they received from God is so great that they do not know what to give thanks for. The psalmist said, "With what shall the LORD repay me for all his favor? I will take up the cup of salvation and call on the name of the LORD; I will pay my vows to the LORD before all his people" (Psalm 116 :12-14). . The saints have so many things to be thankful for in all things. Therefore, it is appropriate to give praise to God as a way of expressing gratitude.
3. Praise with musical instruments (verse 7).
“Sing to our God on the harp.”
David played the harp and praised God. This can be praised only by nurturing, but if you use a good instrument to praise God, it will be more beautiful and will bring glory to the Lord. Therefore, if you know how to play all musical instruments, you should give praise to God with musical instruments. The purpose of God's creation or redemption is to receive praise and glory. Therefore, we must give praise to God by any means and means.
conclusion
The redeemed saints should give glory and praise to God.
