Title Psalm 15 (Psalm 15:1-)
Contents
The psalms we are seeing were originally personal psalms written by David or others, but they were gathered into a single book called the psalms to be used as praise songs during worship. So, some poems were sung by David with a grateful heart to God. that was expressed. There is also a poem of repentance that David wrote to repent of his sins, and it was used during the worship service to repent of the people's sins while singing together...
From that point of view, today's Psalm 15 is David's personal poem, but at what time (for what purpose) do you think it was used during worship?
According to the content of this poem, it was probably sung during the preparation of the service before the service started, or it was used to check each person worshiping while singing this song at the beginning of the service in the first hour .
Verse 1 is sung by the worship host aloud. “O LORD, who will dwell in your tent, and who will dwell in your holy mountain?”---Your holy mountain (holy mountain) or your tabernacle... refers to the holy place where God sits. In other words, ‘God, who can go to the holy place where God is, and who can stand before God’s holy throne?’…this is the question.
No one can stand before God. Can a sinner not come before God's holy throne? Now, we are approaching the holy throne where God sits, but who can come before that holy throne without suffering the wrath of God? What qualifications do you need to meet?... is a question the moderator asks in front of the whole congregation....
Then the people all at once recite verse 2 and below in a loud voice. “Walking honestly, doing justice, speaking the truth in your heart...” Did I really do these things while crying out one by one like this? Am I worthy of these standards? I am examining myself as I go to worship.... Here are 10 standards.... At least these 10 standards to come to worship God. It means that you should check whether you have lived your life properly and come out...
What lessons can we learn from this?
1. It means that no one can go to worship. Those who come before God to worship must have certain qualifications. No matter how well the offerings for worship are, and no matter how splendid the worship decorations are, if the worshipers, the worshipers, are not well prepared, they will never be able to approach God...
Today, worship has lost its sanctity. Anyone can come to worship. No, I beg you to come to worship. Some children and students are begging for their bodies to come out during the worship service, or they even launch a gift offensive saying that they will give a gift once they come to worship.
In a strict sense, this is an act of neglecting God who is worshiped.
--When did God ejaculate you for worship? Are you anxious for God to receive our worship? It's okay to sin and it's okay to do a lot of bad things, so is the one who ejaculates you to come out to worship and show your face?
no. God is the King of the universe. It is the natural duty and most important mission of all creation to worship before that holy God. Worshiping God is the surest sign of being ruled by God and living in His grace and love. When we worship God, we have the evidence that that person does not perish and that we are free from God's judgment...
Can't worship God...This is a tragedy, God rejects us from worshiping...There is nothing more terrifying and terrifying than this. The person whom God expels from the place of worship is the person whose judgment has been declared. A person who has been abandoned by God, a person who does not deserve to exist in this world.... Can such important things come to worship or not? That is to say....
But can you please come to worship? If you attend the worship service, you will be rewarded and given a gift? When did God tell us to use worship that way? Worship is not like that...
Today the Bible tells us clearly. ‘Everyone who wants to come can’t come to worship. In order to come to worship God, you must first have clear qualifications before worship. Only those who have the qualifications God wants can worship God in the holy mountain of God...'
--Comrades, know the importance of worship. Know what a wonderful privilege it is to be able to worship. I hope you will remember what a wonderful grace and privilege it is that God does not kick you out of the place of worship and accepts it as it is...
2. Then, what are the qualifications that worshipers should have?
The text is talking about 10 things.
“Walk upright, practice justice, speak truth in his heart, do not accuse with his tongue, do no evil to his friend, do not slander his neighbor (slander: slander) ), his eyes despise the ungodly (the ungodly, those whom God rejects), and honor those who fear the Lord, and the vows he made in his heart, even if they are harmful, do not change, and do not pay interest. He who takes a bribe and does not harm the innocent...”
--If I could express these ten things in one word, it would be ‘truth’. Those who do not live a life of truth, lie, slander, or make others unjust can never come to God to worship.
Brothers and sisters, please remember that God is the one who receives the worship we offer as life before the worship we offer as ceremonies. There are two types of worship.
1. Worship as a rite...
2. Worship offered by life and life.... In order to have good ceremonial worship, we must first do well in life worship.
Saints are not just people who worship on Sunday mornings. He is a person who worships every moment every moment., God watches every moment of our life and receives the true life of that life as a sacrifice of worship. Romans 12:1 says, “Offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship...” That is our true worship...
Today, we live in the world as worshipers. Every word we say and every action God accepts as a sacrifice for worship. I hope that we will become worshipers who offer holy and fragrant sacrifices to God. If you strive for the truthful life that you cannot tell lies because God is watching you, and you cannot be deceived with stories that no one else has, it will be a fragrant sacrifice that God accepts....
Today, I hope that you will be preparing yourself as people worthy to go to the holy mountain of the holy God through the sacrifice of true life.... (Rev. Kang Young-guk)
