Psalm 17 is a “prayer psalm that appeals to God” and belongs to 'Lamentations'.
If you look at the title, it says <Prayer of David>...
We see David's powerful appeal to God.
(1) Hear the cry of righteousness, O LORD; Heed my cry; Hear my prayer from lips that are not lying.
In verse 1 alone, we appeal to God 3 times.
Hear..., beware..., give ear.
Like David, those who seek God and pray in times of crisis are great saints.
When a beginner in faith encounters a crisis, he tries to solve it on his own.
Then, we seek God only when all worldly methods are blocked.
However, mature saints seek God right away when they see a crisis.
David wrote this prayer poem... It is said that before he ascended to the throne, he was being chased by King Saul.
What was David like to King Saul?
He was the most faithful, the most valiant, and the most powerful.
David had no intention of harming the king whom God had anointed.
However, Saul misunderstood and hated David.
In the end, he tried to kill David with all his might.
Why did King Saul hate David so much?
because of envy.
When the women of Israel sang, "Saul killed a thousand thousands, David ten thousand"
King Saul was jealous of the praise he received from his loyal subordinates.
For the saints, envy is a heart to be wary of.
It is envy that most easily overtakes those who claim to be working hard for the Lord.
Someone who prays harder than me...
Someone who is used more than me...
Someone more humble than me to serve...
When you see these people, reach out to them and help them work harder,
You must be challenged by yourself and learn to glorify God.
At one time, people who were greatly used by God fall without overcoming envy.
In particular, considering our nationality, "Even if I can tolerate hunger..., I can't stand it."
The heart that Korean believers should be most wary of is probably jealousy.
King Saul was misunderstood because of his envy.... This is Psalm 17 of supplication written while being pursued unfairly.
David asserts his innocence.
He complains that he never said or did anything that would make him pursued.
(2) You judge me, and with your eyes see what is fair.
(3) Thou hast tested my heart, and came to me by night, and searched me, and found no blemish; I am determined and will not sin with my mouth.
Although David is being chased, he is pleading with confidence.
It means living with nothing to be ashamed of.
Like David, we
When you hear the words judging by God... examining... testing... examining...
The saints should have an anticipation that is eagerly awaited.
By any chance, hearing these words makes my life unsettling, isn't it?
Even if the Lord looks upon me and examines me, 2010 should be the year I live proudly.
There are two reasons for David's boldness.
<Passive grounds>
(4) By the word of the lips of the Lord, he took heed that he did not go in the way of the tyrant.
* Vicious One (Peritz): A word from collide (Paraz),
It means 'one who cannot control himself'.
* Refrain from yourself: It means to hit a fence, hit a barbed wire.
The basis of David's dignifiedness was that he lived a 'controlled life' in which he controlled his emotions with the word of God.
<Active rationale>
(5) My steps have kept your way, and have not stumbled.
* Keep firmly (Tamark): follow closely, keep firmly.
In Exodus 17, when Amalek and Israel were fighting, Moses raised his hand.
When Israel wins and gets tired and puts down her hand, Israel loses.
Then Aaron and Hur lifted Moses' hands from both sides so that they would not come down.
When the hand came down, the neck of the Israeli soldier fell on the sword of Amalek... Desperately
He held up Moses' arm..., and the word used at this time is 'Tamaq'.
David did not deviate from the path of righteousness that God had told him to go,
It means to walk carefully and nervously, step by step.
It's like walking on snow, step by step, trying not to slip, giving strength to your feet...
In this way, David, who lived dignifiedly without shame, confidently asks for God's help.
(Verses 6-15) Protect me from the evil world.
In verse 7... I look forward to God's marvelous work of love.
In verse 8.... Like the pupil of the eye, I pray for protection under the shadow of your wings.
<Prayer>
May the remaining 354 days of 2010 become a saint like David.

There was a problem with the live streaming server today, so I couldn't broadcast live.
Recording is only video, no audio.
So, I'm posting it as a sermon.
