There is nothing more painful than being deliberately slandered by someone. If someone close to you has done such a thing, the pain you feel is even greater. David went through this. How did David deal with this situation? Let's take a look together.
1. David praying (verses 1-5)
David was attacked from all sides. Even though he did nothing wrong, he was constantly attacked by enemies. Even in this painful situation, David did not repay evil with evil, but acted with a good heart and showed grace and mercy. Also, he did not take revenge on the wicked himself or attack them, but prayed and entrusted the matter to God. Like David, we too can suffer innocent suffering. In that case, we should not try to solve the problem by human power. We must leave the matter to God. When we leave it to God and go to prayer, God will solve our problems and help us in the best way that we could not have thought of.
2. David praying for the judgment of the wicked (verses 6-12)
David prays to God to judge the wicked. We seek to judge not only the one who harmed David, but also his children. David's prayer is not for personal revenge, but for God's justice through judgment. He prayed that those who sinned and did evil would realize that they could never escape God's judgment. We too should pray for God's justice to be revealed when we face hardships and difficulties from the world. God forgives sins with love and mercy, but at the same time, He judges and rewards good and evil according to their deeds. Therefore, we must be sure of God's justice and wait for God's time with patience in the face of worldly persecution. And in any situation, you must trust God completely.
3. David prays for the end of evil (verses 13-15)
David continues to pray for God's judgment on the wicked. He prays that the heirs of the wicked be cut off. It was unfortunate and a curse to cut off the heirs in Israel, who viewed the prosperity of their descendants as God's blessing. David did this prayer not to take revenge on the wicked, but because he hoped that evil would not be passed on from generation to generation. David also prays that the iniquity of the wicked will always offend the Lord. Only then can God judge evil and bring justice and peace to the world through judgment. Sin is rampant in the world today. We must constantly pray for God to remove evil and turn the wicked from sin.
When the saints are criticized and attacked by the world, they must not react in the way of the world. Like David, we need to entrust our problems to God and pray that God will solve them. We must remember that judgment, slander, and condemnation are not ours. Our share is only love, blessings and prayers.
