The Word of God says that there is a life that follows the flesh and a life that follows the guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is said that those who are interested in the things of the flesh will be led by their fallen nature, and the result will be death. But when we live led by the Holy Spirit and have an interest in things in the Holy Spirit, it is peace. Wisdom is knowing who is the master who leads me and who is the subject of me. This is because the direction, content, and results of my life change accordingly.

So, what is the most valuable thing in life? What is my first, last, and ultimate wish? Everyone has a wish. However, if you look at the contents of that wish, many things are momentary. When one wish comes true, they are caught up in another desire.

David's wish today was not a wish that changed from then to then. At any moment, when we are happy or when we are drunk, when we succeed or when we fail, whether it is a happy moment or a difficult moment, the wish that we always yearn for and want to be like that does not change, that is the ultimate wish, and we have that wish on this earth. There must be. In today's text, David was a man who had such a wish.

Then, through today's text, we would like to have a time of grace through what was David's most precious wish.

1. It was to enjoy spiritual fellowship with God forever (verse 4).

David's wish, "I want to live in the house of the Lord for the rest of my life," means "I want to enjoy spiritual fellowship with God forever." If you look at David's life in real life, you can see that he was a person of prayer. Although he prays in the midst of suffering, he can be seen praying especially at dawn.

“Lord, hear my prayer at dawn. At dawn I will report my circumstances to you and wait for your will.” (Psalm 5:3)

And he was a man who longed for the word of God.

“The teachings of the Lord are more desirable than gold, and than pure gold, and sweeter than honey, and honey from honeycomb” (Psalm 19:10).

Through this life, David had fellowship with God, and through this life of fellowship, he wishes that his life as a resident of God's house will be eternal.

2. It was to complete the life of worship.

David makes this confession

“Blessed is the man whom the Lord has chosen and brought near to dwell in the courts of the Lord. Therefore we will be content with every good thing in your house, in your holy temple” (Psalm 65:4). )

The word 'a person who stays in the courts of the Lord' means a person who went to God's temple for worship. David was a worshiper. He knew how to praise God and was a man who knew how to glorify God. His worship was thrilling and moving. It was a living worship. David is confessing that he wants to dwell in the house of the Lord in this dimension. To worship before God and through his life, to do everything completely, is to dwell in God's house and to be with God. Worship is the life of dwelling in the house of God, and the beginning and channel of blessings and power. David knows this well, so he confesses, "I want to live in God's house for the rest of my life, that is, I want to live fully worshiping God."

3. It was to long for God's temple and to enjoy finding it.

David enjoyed visiting the temple. It is not because the temple is ornate and has a beautiful exterior. Now this temple is a tabernacle temple that Moses built and brought out of the wilderness. The tabernacle. They enjoyed going there, worshiping God, meeting God, and hearing God’s voice. Because of the name of God, I especially enjoyed visiting the temple because He was present and working there.

Our most precious wish should be "to live in the house of the Lord for the rest of our lives."

It is living in the house of the Lord while walking and fellowshipping with God, fully worshiping God, and enjoying finding God's temple. Then God will use us. And he will work and fulfill his will for us.
