Today's text, Psalm 30, is a poem of David, a poem to thank God for His grace. David decided to live forever and ever with endless gratitude. Why is David eternally grateful?
First, thank you for giving life out of ruin.. (v. 1)
It is the grace of grace that we should never forget, and the greatest grace is the grace that God delivered us from eternal death and sin. David experienced God's grace more than anyone else in his deliverance from the valley of the shadow of death. As I approached the twilight of my life, I experienced so vividly that God had rescued me from many turning points of death. What we should always remember and be thankful for is that we must never forget the grace of being saved from the place of death where we have no choice but to die forever.
The most popular hymn sung by Christians in the world is Chapter 305, “You saved a sinner like me,” or Amazing grace. "I was amazed by the grace of the Lord who saved a sinner like me, and I found the life I lost and found light." Let's not forget the grace that saved us from eternal death. No matter how difficult it is, if you think about this grace, you will automatically become grateful. In any case, it should be a life that gives thanks to God for protecting life. Why do people forget the precious grace of God? Because they do not know that they are from God. We have no thanks to God because we mistakenly believe that everything we have is ours even though we have received it from God. Thank you for having to lose and lose. To realize God's grace, we have to live without giving thanks to God for giving us life, health, and good environment. When we acknowledge the fact that God is the Lord of our life and live in gratitude for His grace, humans can enjoy happiness, but when we forget God and become the master, life becomes more chaotic. Like David today, I hope that you will live with praise and thanks to God who redeemed your life from destruction.
Second, thank you for allowing us to live in a holy name (verse 4).
‘Missionary George Everett Ross’ is said to have discovered that there are two things in faith after 31 years of missionary work. One is the belief that says "If..." and the other is the faith that says "Even if...". People who say “if…” say that if everything goes well, if my life prospers, if I succeed, then I will believe in God, pray, go to church, and dedicate myself. But the person who says "... even if the wicked prosper, even if they drink my cup at Calvary, even if they have to die on the cross, I confess that I can trust the God who created me even at that moment." do. Even if he kills me, I will believe in the Lord.
Third, thank you for guiding me with grace throughout my life (verse 12).
Even if the reality is miserable enough to bring us to tears, when we turn our tears into tears of faith that we ask God for, instead of weeping because we are upset, God will surely wash our tears and turn them into joy. I believe in giving
We have tomorrow. In particular, there is God's vision for our church. I hope that you will become believers who do not lose their gratitude in any case. Even if you live through the evenings when crying is hoarding, I want you to be a morning person. I hope that you will be a morning person who can look forward to the morning of joy approaching and give thanks to God. In the morning, the darkness disappears and the sun always rises. The appearance of all things is clearly shown. Only then will you find yourself. Even if we live in the dark of the night, we believe that when we give thanks to God, things to be thankful for will happen. David realized this early. When you do not harbor sorrow in the midst of anxiety and sublimate your sorrow into gratitude, then sorrow becomes a dance and tears turn into joy. I hope you, saints, give thanks when you are sad. That sadness will turn into a dance. Be thankful when you cry. Those tears will turn into joy. In times like these, thank God more. Sorrow turns into dance, and tears turn into joy.
David realized this grace and praised God and confessed his thanks. He speaks of eternal gratitude, not instantaneous gratitude. Gratitude for one small blessing is the way to receive another big blessing. Disputes, hatred, and problems arise because of the loss of gratitude. Gratitude is not something you do according to the circumstances of your life, but you should be grateful for life itself. I bless you in the name of the Lord that you will become blessed saints who live with thanksgiving forever. Amen
