In today's text, Psalm 32 is said to be the mourning Psalm of St. Augustine. It is said that Saint Augustine lamented this psalm with a depressed heart. Even on his deathbed, he meditated on this poem and shed tears of repentance. He said:
"The best knowledge is to know that we are sinners."
Even if he has the foreknowledge of knowing the physical rationale, the thoughts of the times, and the future, if he does not know his sin, he is truly ignorant of the fundamentals and is a person who does not know himself. The knowledge of one's sin, there can be no more important knowledge than this.
The person who wrote today's Psalms is David, who is called the Holy Army. David was the most exalted of the many kings in Israel's history. Even now, there are places where David is worshiped and we believe that David will come again as the Messiah. According to Matthew 1:1, in the genealogy of Jesus, that he was the son of David, he is counted as one of the most loved by God among human beings. David's name appears 800 times in the Bible. The Bible called David an honest man. “As my servant David was upright,” he wrote. Honest man, this is what God highly valued. Because his honesty was in the 'knowledge of sin'. So I could repent, and therefore be forgiven. David also sinned. To cover up this, he decided to kill the general who was loyal to him, Uriah. But the prophet Nathan confessed his sins to him. At this time, David honestly repented and was forgiven. As a result, they are singing poems of emotion and gratitude.
First, those who sin and suffer because of their sins are blessed. (Verses 1-2)
Modern people are very reluctant to discuss sin. However, in order to become a blessed person, you must be able to know your sins and confess your sins. David says. When I did not repent, my heart groaned all day long. He also said, “My bones have melted.” Uriah's wife Bathsheba entered the concubine. It was a thorough and perfect crime so that no one knew about David's sin of fornication. But his heart was not at ease. The expression ‘my bones have melted’ means that the torment and pain deep in his soul is unbearable. Although he was with the one he loved, his lips shared the language of affection and his body shared the peripheral sweetness, but his heart was pierced by needles and trembled with indescribable shame.
Second, those who confess their sins are blessed (verse 5).
Why does God love David? The answer is because they pursued restoration with God as the best life history. It was the man he knew to repent of his sins that restored David's relationship with God.
David may have been drinking more and more as he went on after the crime. David may have become more violent in his language after the crime. David may have pursued more and more fleshly pleasures as he went on after his crime. This is the loneliness that human beings feel separated from God. It is an expression of the primal instinct to solve this loneliness. There was anguish and anguish at the bottom of his soul, and he was tormented by the nausea on the verge of vomiting, a desire to quickly proclaim his crime everywhere. At this time, God sent the prophet Nathan. The prophet came and pointed out his sins. After tasting the coolness that his soul had been waiting for, he must have abandoned the king's throne and knelt down in repentance. What could be more blessed than repentance?
Third, blessed are those whose sins are forgiven (verse 6).
Those who do not believe in God cannot repent. Because sin is a punishment. But how happy are those who have the grace of forgiveness of sins? One day the mother says to her son. If you say you're wrong, I'll forgive you, but my son doesn't say he was wrong. Finally, I pick up the rod. I'm not going to say that I was wrong after all. Eventually, you grind. There is blood in the child's castle. The beating is removed, and the mother rather weeps. Do you know this feeling? It is the heart of God. God's heart is on fire because he wants to forgive him. It is God's desire to forgive us, to bless us, to prosper us, and to bring us peace. There is no greater blessing than this to receive grace from God. God wants to forgive. If you are forgiven, that is a blessing. When you receive forgiveness, you will be restored to God and those who have been forgiven, and you will be able to pray.
(Verse 6) It is said that after being forgiven, it became a prayer. If our sins are not resolved, we cannot pray. I can't even think of a prayer topic. It is mumbled without content. No matter how difficult or difficult the environment is, if you pray, there will be no worries. In (verse 7), God became a refuge. You are entitled to the protection of God. If he repents and is forgiven, God protects his life. (Verse 8) God guides him. How blessed is it that your life's course of life is led by God? In verse 11, it says that we rejoice with the Lord.
Jesus on the cross was crucified for our past, present and future sins. If you repent of your sins, you will become a blessed person who is forgiven.
