The word "new song" appears nearly ten times in the Bible. Today's text is the first time the word "new song" appears in the Bible.

When you think of a new song, it's easy to think of it as a newly created song - a song with new lyrics and new composition. A new song in the Bible doesn't mean that.

1. Which song is the new song? (verse 3)

(Psalm 40:3) explains what the new song is like.

“Because the Lord has put a new song in my mouth, a song for our God.” A hymn to God is a new song.

Relatively, all the songs of the world are old songs. No matter how loudly they advertise a new song, they are all old songs. The old ones are that much cheaper.

Among the hymns we offer to God, the song we sing with a new heart is a new song. This is a song based on a new heart. Every time you open a hymn, sing it with a new heart. In that case, even the same hymn becomes a new song, and it is to keep God's command to sing God's song with a new song well.

2. How to sing a new song? (Verse 2)

To sing a new song, you need to be with gratitude and have emotion. A song sung without gratitude and emotion cannot be called a new song. To sing a new song, you need to know that praise is more precious than any other song. A new song is a song you give with your whole body and with your life.

During a service at a church, the elder who prayed the representative prayed, "We will praise the Lord with a ten-stringed lyre." The saints wondered, 'We don't have a ten-stringed lyre in our church, but the pipa is an old-fashioned instrument.

We will praise You by looking only at You with our eyes.

We will praise You by hearing only Your voice with our ears.

We will praise You by serving You with our hands.

We will praise You by running with our feet in the way of Your commandments.

We will praise You with our tongues testifying of Your mercy.

We will praise You by loving You alone with our hearts.

We will praise the Lord with the fragrance of our bodies.

We will praise the Lord by burning ourselves to shine.

We will give to You with what we have, to praise You.

We will praise the Lord as we gather together and cooperate.

Eyes, ears, hands, feet, tongue, mind, body, self, having, gathering together, ten. This new song is the praise we give with our bodies and our lives.

The first half of Psalm 96:1 is short and firm. “Sing to the Lord a new song”

So is Psalm 98:1. "Praise the Lord with a new song"

Psalm 149:1 is also a command, “Hallelujah, sing to the Lord a new song, praise him in the assembly of the saints.

Isaiah 42:10 says, "Sing a new song to the LORD, you who sail, and all that is in the midst of the sea, and the islands and those who live there, sing praises from the ends of the earth." It's also a command.

There are people who know that praise is only for choir members, but the Bible is not written only for choir members. Written for all of us. This command is for all of us.

In order to keep this command well, we must have gratitude in our hearts, we must have emotion, we must know that praise is precious, and we must praise it with our whole body.

3. What are the benefits of singing a new song? (Verses 1, 21)

Our hearts are filled with joy.

Healing takes place, restoration takes place, and refreshment occurs.

If prayer is the breath of our soul, then praise is a melodic prayer. May you always give praise and glory to the Lord in your life.
