Just as parents always give their hearts to their children because they love their children, God always wants to be with His chosen people because He loves us. He is a God who desires to prosper, wants you to be strong, and delights in filling you with peace and hope.
Then, we want to share grace together while pondering the Word of what kind of person God blesses.
Who is blessed by God?
First, he is a person who turns away from evil and does good (verse 27).
He who turns away from evil can do good. The power to do good comes from turning away from evil. You cannot do good with evil.
The word 'evil' means 'root of bitterness' in the Greek (pikria). When a tree is cut and there is only a trunk, it withers after a while, but even if the root is cut, it will grow again. A good tree produces good branches and bears fruit no matter how much the tree is cut and cut. But from the root of evil, evil springs up again. No matter how much you cut and cut, it will reappear.
So (Hosea 10:12), there is a saying, 'Turn up the sluggish land'. We must uproot the root of evil. Before believing in Jesus, I hope you will break off all your old habits and cultivate them. I hope you can pull it out by root. Then we will be blessed.
Second, a person who likes to give alms. (verses 25-26)
In verse 26, there is the word 'to give'. Those who love almsgiving receive God's blessing. In fact, it is more blessed to give than to receive (Acts 20:35, Luke 6:38).
(Proverbs 11:25), it is said, "He who loves alms will have an abundance, and he who refreshes others will be refreshed."
Third, those who depend on God (verse 40).
He said that those who trust in God will deliver them from the hand of the wicked. Relying on God itself is an act of faith, and relying on God is the way to solve all problems.
(Proverbs 29:25) says: “The fear of man is a snare, but he that trusts in Jehovah will be secure.”
Those who trust in God will possess the earth (Psalm 37:22), do not fall (verse 24), do not beg from childhood to old age (verse 25), and receive the blessings of their descendants (verse 26).
