Title: Praise and Praise!

Text: (Psalm 47:1-9)

Praise: Chapter 23. If I have a craving

Date: July 17, 2010 (Sat) 5 am

Venue: Jeonju Yebut Church Small Worship Room

This psalm tells us to praise God. (Verses 6-7) Let's read the Word together.

“Praise God with poetry. Praise with poetry. Praise our King with poetry. Praise with poetry. God is the King of all the earth; praise him with all your heart.”

The word praise is repeated 5 times. Why should we praise God? Because God is the King of all the earth, he deserves to be praised.

This fact is repeatedly emphasized in (verse 2).

“The Lord is the Most High to be feared, the great and great King over all the earth.”

This is because God is the King of all the kings of not only Israel, but of the whole world. So, how should we praise?

We must abandon our habitual and formal appearance (verse 1).

“O all peoples” indicates that the people who should praise Jehovah are all people of the world, including the Israelites. The phrase “clap your hands” refers to an outward action that expresses joy and gratitude toward God. “Cry out the shouts of joy” means praising God over the emotions of joy that come from within.

How about our praise? Isn't it too formal and habitual to praise? When we sing, is the anointing of the Holy Spirit coming and the power of God being revealed?

* Ability to praise

Old Testament) When King Saul heard an evil spirit, David sang on the harp and the evil spirit went away.

New Testament) Paul and Silas are imprisoned while preaching the gospel. In the middle of the night praying and praising God, the prison doors are opened.

We should be able to praise God in all circumstances. Praise God not only when we are happy, but also when we are sad, when we are discouraged, and when we are sick. How could that be? This is because God ultimately protects, protects, and triumphs over His chosen people.

* Verses 7-8

God has now defeated those who rebelled against him, and he sits again on his holy throne in heaven and rules over the nations. These songs symbolize the ascension of Jesus Christ. Christ came into this world to defeat the forces of Satan and death that oppose God. Through this process, God confirmed to all people that the Lord of history is God. On the day that Christ overcame death and rose again, and on the day he ascended to heaven, the whole world was filled with the singing of angels welcoming him. The Lord is now again seated on his throne in heaven and is ruling the world with all authority in heaven and on earth.

This prophecy was fulfilled when Christ sat down at the right hand of God. And in the last days Christ will be exalted again above the whole world. Therefore, Manmin should praise Jehovah, and God's people should live with pride in being chosen.
