Title Raise Your Eyes / Isaiah 55:8-9

Content Raise your eyes/Isaiah 55:8-9

Key Verse: “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts higher than your thoughts” (Isaiah 55:9).

Word: There were two students of the same height. But one day, one person stopped growing. On the other hand, the friend continued to grow. He referred to his friend as 'long leg'. The tall leg called him 'dwarf'. The angry dwarf went to the teacher and confessed his anger, saying, "I am not a dwarf. He has grown too big. It's okay to call him long legs, but it's not rude to call me a dwarf." "Your idea is wrong. Your long-legged friend is not long-legged because he grows day by day. It's normal to grow day by day, but you're a dwarf who hasn't grown up. Think of a fish floating in the same place as the water is flowing. As much as the water flows. Isn't that fish floating away? It is the same with humans. If you stand still, you become a dwarf, and as time goes on, it is not tall legs, it is normal.”

From our own point of view, anyone taller than us is bound to be tall. Sometimes we tend to measure others by our standards without realizing that we haven't grown up. It's an excuse for self-centeredness. Am I growing normally?

In the movie 'Dead Poets Society', there is a scene where John Keating, a teacher at Welton Academy High School, asks students to stand on their desks. Everyone in the class gets on the desks and they can see the world from a different perspective. You hear the advice of your teacher to have big eyes. There is a saying that you can only see at your own height. This is because it looks different depending on where you look at it.

Now, let's raise our eyes. We need to raise the height of our faith. We are growing up and standing tall without realizing it, so let's grow in the Lord so that the things that were scary, scary and difficult before are now confident and comfortable. The thoughts of the Lord toward me are peace and hope. to be hungry (Jeremiah 29:11). Let's pray that today will be a day to align my thoughts and life with the high thoughts of the Lord.

Prayer: Help me to live in harmony with your thoughts toward your high will. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
