reason for reconciliation
Romans 3:23-26 '23. For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24. Being justified freely by the grace of God through the atonement that is in Christ Jesus, 25. Jesus was set forth by God as a propitiation through faith through his blood, so that in the forbearance of God he might show his righteousness, by overlooking the sins he had committed before. He is also righteous, so that those who believe in Jesus might justify' - Amen.
The use of the word reconciliation in the Bible is an expression of the sinful life that came into relationship with God through the sacrifice of the Son of God.
Romans 5:10 'In other words, since when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life'. . At this time, I would like to ponder what is the reason for reconciliation.
1. The goal of reconciliation is to take away sins
Christianity is not for the sake of social common sense, nor is it a welfare organization. Christianity has the idea of renewing the fundamental state of the soul and aiming for eternal life in the afterlife. Abandoning this, the group is not Christian.
Text, 23 'All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God'.
Man lives without even realizing that human sinfulness and the consequences of judgment are so disastrous enough to sacrifice God's only Son, but God clearly knows the details, so He took the place of pain (Romans 5:8).
It is not meant to be reconciled as a means to smoothen the field of life, but it should be clear what is right and wrong and what is holy and profane. The standard is the truth of the Bible. Trying to deviate from the truth and reconcile is the result of dishonoring God. Reconciliation is a means to get rid of sin and curses, not the goal.
2. To achieve reconciliation, the road must be patient
If God were as angry as humans, there would be no survivors in the global village. In general, it is difficult for a person to change and develop anew. Therefore, in order to achieve spiritual harmony, one must bear the path of being like God. God waited 2,000 years after Jesus came to save us as Gentiles.
In verse 25, it says, “God set forth this Jesus as a propitiation through faith through his blood, so that in the forbearance of God he might show his righteousness by overcoming the sins he had committed before.”
3. Reconciliation is for the glory of God
Reconciliation is not just for restoring relationships between people. The ultimate goal is for man to have a right relationship with God, and as a result, to appear as God's joy and glory.
Verse 26, “He was showing his righteousness at this time, that he might be just, and that those who believe in Jesus might justify.”
Reconciliation has a linguistic value that starts from the biblical reconciliation between God and man. Forsaking God should not happen because of reconciliation with people. So this word was born.
Galatians 1:10 “Now do I seek the good of men or of God or the joy of men? If I have sought the joy of men until now, then I am not a servant of Christ.”
To give a more empirical example, it is saying that it is not the fundamental spirit of biblical reconciliation to tolerate heresy or make it easier to say things that cover other religions for the sake of reconciliation.
John 17:21 “Father, as you are in me and I in you, so they may all be one in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me.”
This verse means to become one through reconciliation between us as God the Father and Jesus the Son are one. The important thing is to unify the qualitative elements of our thoughts. God and Jesus are never alike. In the same way that the Father and the Son are independent in their mode of existence, but form a perfect unity in their essence, the meaning of the denomination and the form of the chapel should be the same even though they are different.
With the expansion of selfishness and individualism, the world is burning with loneliness in abundance and poverty and thirst in the heart. In order to analyze this cause again, we will have to find God's covenant of blessing through the Bible.
The blockage of communication between God and man, between man and man, between man and work and material, is a phenomenon caused by the absence of God's love and truth. I pray that you and I will be able to fulfill the ministry of reconciliation well so that the movement of God's glory and life can be filled with the movement of God's mercy and truth for God's reconciliation.
