Text: “Remember that the LORD your God made you walk in the wilderness these forty years… ” (Deuteronomy 8:2~3)
Word: God loved the people of Israel so much. The people who were enslaved in Egypt could not be left alone, so Moses had them lead the Israelites through the wilderness. Why did he make them walk for 40 years in the land of Canaan, which can be reached in a few days? This is because the Israelites were serving idols rather than God while serving as slaves in Egypt.
God wanted the people of Israel to change. In the wilderness, God humbled the Israelites. He wanted to know and serve only God. However, the Israelites sometimes complained and complained with pride rather than thanksgiving, and they even resisted God.
Where is the wilderness of this earth for us today? This is the church we serve. If we are arrogant and do not know the Father's truth, laws, ordinances, and commandments, then we must listen to God's Word and humble ourselves and enter into grace. If we go humbly, peace, blessings and joy will come within us.
Dear brothers and sisters, God made us walk in the wilderness because He wanted us to be humble. He tested whether he was going according to God's word in order to bless the people of Israel. God commanded Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac, whom he had at the age of 100. Abraham obeyed the word and received the blessing of being called the father of faith. God is leading us in the wilderness today by giving us blessings and testing us so that we do not fall into the temptations of the evil devil. To enter the land of Canaan, we must obey the Word of God.
We have a God who leads us with a pillar of fire and a pillar of cloud. You can run without any fear. Even if God tests us, we must hold on to the Word of God and move forward. Then we can enter the land of Canaan. We will surely win.
Prayer: Almighty God, you humbled and tested the people of Israel by making them walk in the wilderness. Even when God tests us, help us to become a people who obey and receive amazing blessings like Abraham. We believe in God's love and blessing, and we pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
