"Reason to be grateful 2"
2 Samuel 7:1 3. A life pleasing to God. 2006. 7.16. Sunday Glory Worship
After Saul's death, Israel was divided into two kingdoms. In other words, the kingdom of the tribe of Judah, with David as king and Hebron as the capital, and Ishbosheth son of Saul as king and Mahanaim as the capital were divided into the remaining tribes. Then, after seven and a half years, the country was unified and David was crowned king of all Israel. When David became king, he took Jerusalem, an impregnable fortress, from the Jebusites, and immediately after winning two wars against the Philistines, he expanded his territory and strengthened his kingship.
However, realizing that the true kingship and national power came from the faith, morality, and unity of the people, the ark of the Covenant was moved from Baalehuda to the City of David and placed in the center of the veil of the sanctuary, forming a sense of religious unity among the people. By doing so, David's kingship was established, a sense of religious unity was created, and he became powerful enough to threaten the surrounding nations. Peace reigned in the country. In such a situation, today's story begins.
;1, “When the LORD destroyed all the enemies on every side, and made the king to dwell in peace in his palace…” Now the war was over and the great peace was opened. I hope that you too will be able to do well in your home and workplace business, be wealthy, financially wealthy, and get rid of the ailments of disease and achieve a peaceful atmosphere that everyone envys.
Verse 2, “The king said to Nathan the prophet, Behold. I live in a house of cedar, and the ark of God is in the veil.” Here we can read David's kind heart. He thought of a good royal palace in which he resided, and the dwelling place of the ark, which symbolized the presence of God. And my heart ached, and I said to the prophet Nathan. Nathan, who knew the king's heart, said, "King! God will help you, so do what is in your heart…” David's heart was about building the temple. It was said to build the temple according to what he had in mind. Through this scene, we can see what life is pleasing to God. Something?
1. A life of gratitude
David's groaning, "I live in a royal palace, but the ark is in a shabby place!" is deeply ingrained in his gratitude for God's grace. There is one thing we must not forget when things are going well. It is the heart and appearance of gratitude. All blessings become real blessings only when they are finished with thanksgiving. In that sense, thanks is a seal that confirms the blessings you have already received, and a seal that receives new approval for the blessings you will receive in the future.
Luke 17:11-19, Ten lepers came to Jesus and asked for mercy. Jesus had compassion on them and healed them. But the nine went their separate ways, but only one Samaritan came back to Jesus and thanked him. At that time, were not all ten of Jesus cleansed? Where are those nine? Has no one returned to glorify God except this Gentile? And said to him, Get up and go. Your faith has saved you. He praised the grateful Samaritan for his faith and gave him the grace of salvation as well as healing. If we do not have the attitude to repay gratitude and grace in our lives, it is not true blessing and grace. A life without gratitude is a life of pride. If you really want to be blessed, you have to give thanks to die. Without gratitude, there is no blessing. I hope to give thanks at the risk of my life, making the motto of my heart to be grateful to the end of my life. The way to live a happy life is to be grateful for everything. Thank God for good things, and thank God for bad things.
When a person who received a big prize on TV says, “I give glory to God first,” the tip of my nose stings. David's heart was beautiful because a wave of thanks flowed for God's grace and love.
2. David's heart for the Ark had a heart to think of God before himself.
Matthew 6:33, “Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness. Then all these things will be added to you.” One of the things we always get wrong is to think of ourselves first and then God. First, I think that if I live a rich and comfortable life in a good house, I will live for God, the church, and the gospel. However, when priorities change, it cannot stand properly. According to the flow of the sentence, it can be thought that David was thinking of the ark in the middle of a shabby tent while living in a prosperous and luxurious palace. However, his faith was above all else, and his heart to seek and seek God always took precedence. It was proved in the heart of thinking about the ark of God regardless of circumstances and circumstances. When you are prosperous, you must not forget God. David thought of God and thought that he would build a temple. However, in 1 Chronicles 22:8-10, David did not actually build the temple. It prevented him from building the temple because he had shed much blood.
But God was very pleased with David's heart and opened the door of blessing to him. Just as David was blessed when he only had the dream of building a temple, even if we have only such a dream, we will be blessed. Just because it seems impossible doesn't mean you have to give up on a good dream. When the Puritans arrived in the New World, they worshiped first and built a chapel before their own houses. Psalm 81:15, “Those who oppose the Lord pretend to obey him, but their days will continue forever.” Always put God first. Even if it is difficult, place importance on the place of worship and prayer, and make the life of giving the first fruits and the first hours before the Lord a constitution.
3. Gratitude develops into a heart of devotion.
I hope that you will receive and enjoy God's blessings through life of gratitude, priorities, and actions. Amen
