(Isa 29:15-16) “Woe to you who seek to hide deeply from the LORD your plans, who do their work in darkness, saying, Who sees us, and who knows us? Is it to be regarded as clay? How can an object that has been made say of its maker, He has not made me, and a molded object of the one who molded it, saying, “He has no understanding?”
1. We generally tend to view ourselves as righteous compared to others.
1) “I don’t like it”
- This means that it would be good if only you were yourself.
* Meaning that I am good, but others are not as good as I am.
* It is also an expression of selfishness, wanting others to fit their own ideas.
* As a result, we are angry, criticized, and divided because we think differently from ourselves.
* People's quarrels and conflicts begin with this self-centered thinking.
- “What’s wrong with me?” “Why do you only have me?”
* We have what we think of ourselves and what others think of ourselves.
* In general, there is a tendency to think that what one thinks of oneself is correct and correct.
(Matthew 7:5) “You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly and remove the speck from your brother’s eye.”
* Even if you are offended by the advice or rebuke of others, it is difficult to regard it as an advice for yourself.
* The clash of people's words and actions is due to different opinions. : stick to your own thoughts
* Because you think you are right.
- We do not admit ourselves, but we have selfish thoughts.
* This kind of thinking is manifested not only in man, but also in God.
(Jeremiah 22:21) “I spoke to you when you were at peace, but you said, ‘I will not listen.
* When Jeremiah pointed out Judah's fault and urged God to obey, he did not listen.
* They refused to admit their faults, but rather considered themselves wise.
* Let's think about it. Have you ever mourned for yourself when you heard the sermon?
* Have you ever listened to a sermon and thought that it was a word from God through the preacher?
* There are a lot of things that many people think are intentional to listen to me.
* During Jesus' public life, the Jewish religious leaders considered themselves to be just and rather, Jesus as a sinner.
* He was angry at Jesus' rebuke and only tried to get rid of Jesus. Who is really wrong?
* We all have this arrogance.
2. Do not forget that the law of sin exists within us.
(Romans 7:19-24) “I do not do the good I want, but I do the evil I do not want. If I do what I do not want to do, it is not I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. Therefore I have found a law. Evil is present with me, who desires to do good. In my inward man I delight in the law of God, but in my members another law wars against the law of my heart, and has brought me captive to the law of sin that is in my members. I see it coming, oh wretched man I am, who will deliver me from this body of death?”
1) When a person acknowledges that the law of sin exists within himself, he can guard himself against himself.
- Most of the crimes people commit are things that they do even though they know they are wrong.
* When doing wrong things, people do it secretly and watch people's eyes.
* You are afraid of revealing it and try to hide it.
* We also study to rationalize and justify for fear of being exposed.
* These things are always done by being deceived by one's own greed.
* The biggest thing that deceives people is themselves.
* The Bible calls this the law of sin that obscures the rational judgment existing in man.
- The law of sin exists for everyone.
* You must admit that the law of sin exists within you. That's how you limit yourself.
* Sometimes, people easily fall for the things they believe in and promise.
* Know that you have the potential to do the injustice that others do.
* We should always be vigilant, knowing that we are prone to stumbling and falling.
* This is why we should study and obey God's Word.
* The power to resist all evil is in the Word of God.
3. We are only a very small being in the universe.
1) The existence of the earth in the vast universe is only a dot.
- Our existence living in it is only a very insignificant existence.
* What is the benefit of quarreling, insulting, slandering, and slandering for one's own pride and honor?
* You may feel some pleasure through it, but there is only pain to work for him.
* Everyone is just a vain thing to recover the acorn key.
(Ecclesiastes 1:12-14) “I, the evangelist, became king of Israel in Jerusalem, and with all my heart and wisdom, I searched and looked at everything that was done under heaven, and it was painful. I have seen all that they do, they are all vanity, a chasing after wind
* We are only a very small being before God who is full in the vast universe.
* Our true honor and pride must come through God.
* Anything apart from God is meaningless.
* All beings only have value when recognized by the subject.
* God is our absolute ruler.
* This is why we should humbly obey God.
(Ecclesiastes 12:13-14) “Now that we have heard the end of the matter, fear God and keep his commandments, for this is man’s duty, and God will judge every deed and every secret thing, good or evil.”
