Title reform must continue. (2 Chronicles 34:14-28)
The Reformation was a Christian reform movement in which Martin Luther called for a return to the Bible so that we could rediscover God's will and experience His living work in the Word of God. Such a reform movement must always exist in the days of King Josiah in the old days, the days of Luther in the middle ages, and in the Christian history that continues after that. This is because God's will does not always go straight. For this reform movement, what should we do today so that God's will can be done correctly?
1. You must become a troubled believer.
2. You must always keep close to the Word of the Bible.
The Reformation is a movement back to the Bible. One of the leaders of the reform movement, Calvin, who founded the Presbyterian Church in which we belong, digs into the Bible to uncover the purest source of Christianity. He discovered the will of God in the Bible and explained the meaning of it, thus helping us to understand the depth of the Word. Calvin's 'Christian compulsion' and commentary on the Old and New Testaments have become classics today and serve as excellent guides for our faith. The Bible is the Word of God given to the people of that time and age at that time. A guide and a light in all times, a lighthouse giving directions to ships wandering in darkness. It is the scale and standard for judging right and wrong. Therefore, all people should always realize the importance of the Bible and live by diligently reading and meditating. Otherwise, people can be the standard.
Human theories may be the basis. Science, economics, some invisible force, power can be the standard. At the time of the Reformation, since the word of the pope or the decision of church representatives at a meeting was the standard rather than the word of God at the time of the Reformation, it is only the word that cannot be the standard that can truly renew Christianity. that could have been We must not forget that the standard by which we measure everything today is the Bible.
3. Be a courageous believer.
It's easy to know what's wrong, but it's never easy to point it out and boldly fix it. If you can't fix your own mistakes, you can't fix others. A courageous believer is someone who first looks back on his mistakes and dares to correct them. Only through the work of the Holy Spirit in a clean and pure heart can you gain strength and win. When Luther was threatened to revoke his argument in the T cks parliament, Luther said, "In the light of the Bible and clear reason, if I point out the error, I will burn my book before anyone else. I stand here, God help me.
Amen." Many people who followed the ideas of Luther who risked their lives to testify to the truth brought success to the Reformation. Courageous believers do not yield. They do not pervert the will of God. Courageous Believers win because the work of the Holy Spirit is with them.
4. You must become a person who loves the Church of God.
The corruption of the medieval church was exacerbated by complacency priests. If not only the priests but all members of the church loved the church of God, always looked after it and sought God's will, the corruption and corruption of the church would not have spread easily. Only those who truly love the church of God can prevent the church's corruption. The church of God is the church of Christ. Because Christ is my Savior, the church of Christ is also my church. The indifference to the thought that it would be okay for me to indulge in the work of becoming a church is an antagonist to those who love the church of God. When we all have a concern that nothing can happen without me, help each other to form the body of Christ, and become people who know how to love as the church of God, the shape of the church will also be reformed.
Church reform must continue. A church without reform is a dead church. As long as there is a will to reform, the church of God is always full of life. Let's become saints who make God's work come alive for this church, a church full of life.
