Title Reject the villain (Luke 22:47-53)
Contents
Every movie, every drama, every play has people who play villains. For example, there are roles such as the mother-in-law in Simcheongjeon, Byeonsato in Chunhyangjeon, and Nolbu in Heungbujeon. However, the villain is not always the main character. The fact is that it only acts like the licorice of the drugstore, which makes the movie, drama, or play more exciting, lively, and fun. A villain is an assistant, just an extra.
The protagonist is tried by these villains, but never fails. The protagonist never dies. Even if you die, you will surely come back to life. The author leads the play by the protagonist. Therefore, the protagonist has trials but no failures. When the main character dies, it has to end.
But what is surprising is the fact that God has called us to be the protagonists of faith and has called us to be the protagonists of gospel missions. You and I were called to be the protagonists of the vision I hope you don't consider yourself an extra. There are no ectaras in life. God created all human beings to live as protagonists in their lives and gave them life.
But there is something we must be aware of. It is a fact that there will always be hardships that come through those who play the villains for the protagonist.
British people are very fond of herring. Those who ship herring from the North Sea to London pay a different price for freshness. The cheapest herrings are those that have been transported in refrigerated vehicles. The second are those that are placed in a water tank and transported while continuously receiving and eating food. However, more than half of the herrings that arrive in London this way die.
But there was always a merchant who made a fortune by providing fresh live fish to the citizens of London. No one knew the secret. On one occasion, the wife hinted at the secret. The merchant replied indifferently. "I put a few large mullets among the herrings. When they open their mouths to eat them, the herrings desperately run away. The nervous herrings stay fresh until they reach London."
That's right. Putting mullet in herring is not to kill the herring to lower the price or make the herring catch and eat, but rather to keep the herring alive and get a higher price.
Where would this be unique to herring? The same is happening to us today. God gives us suffering in order to make us shine, to increase our value, to make us more powerful, and to set us up in a wider and higher place. In life, nothing ever happens that does not help our spiritual growth. Therefore, everything that comes to us helps us grow. Although we may suffer from the villain, we must never assume or assume the villain ourselves.
Just as there are villains in all novels, plays, and dramas, there are villains in our existential lives. Unfortunately, most people lack spiritual insight. Therefore, they do not understand the meaning of these seemingly unfair things that are happening in reality and react instinctively by thinking only logically and rationally. So it hurts and suffers.
However, if you look closely, if you have a spiritual insight, there is meaning in suffering. Pain must have meaning. Trials have hidden treasures. Therefore, we must have the spiritual ability to interpret hardships, pains, and trials with the eyes of faith and handle them through faith, and we must have the ability to do so.
In the saving work that Jesus came to this earth to save us, there were people who took on the bad roles. Those who criticized Jesus, Judas Iscariot, who sold Jesus for 30 pieces of silver, the chief priests and the chiefs of the temple guards and elders who came to arrest Jesus, the Roman soldiers who took Jesus with all kinds of weapons, and Pilate who made a wrong judgment The council and the crowd that forsook the Prince of Peace and the King of Salvation, these were all villains. The Lord completed the work of salvation through their wicked works.
Through this storm and this villainous character, the hope of salvation will come true sooner. But that doesn't mean that the villain can never be praised for doing well.
You must avoid the villain. You must let go of the villain. You must reject the villain.
Judas Iscariot would also be the person who played the main role of the villain in Jesus' work of salvation. Judas Iscariot was a man who served the Lord for 3 years and 6 months in a very close relationship with the Lord. Then he took on the role of forming an army with the Roman soldiers and handing Jesus over to them.
When the Jewish leaders were thinking about how to quietly arrest Jesus, who had the support and support of the people, it was Judas Iscariot who set out as a villain to solve this problem. It was Judah who took on this villainous role and received thirty pieces of silver. Regarding this, Luke writes, "Satan entered into one of the twelve, Judas, who was called Iscariot."
Judas did not flee when the temptation to sin came. I did not fight sin. Satan is in his heart! When I came in, I didn't resist. Satan is the one who seizes every possibility and opportunity and causes even believers to stumble. We must forsake any form of evil, lest Satan have the possibility and opportunity to rule over us (cf. I Thessalonians 5:22). And we have to fight and win against sin even to the point of shedding blood.
Judas Iscariot is a symbol of the traitor. In the [Webster Dictionary], a global dictionary, it is defined as "a traitor, especially a traitor who betrayed in the guise of friendship" in the column where his name appears.
The Bible clearly evaluates him as a 'thief' (John 12:6), a 'child of perdition' (John 17:22), and a 'devil' (John 6:20).
This hatred and avoidance towards Judas Iscariot is applied as a kind of life emotion in Western society, and the color of Judah refers to red hair, and when referring to the tree of Judah, it refers to the purple flower tree that has been handed down by Judas hanging on it, and the slaughterhouse. The sheep that lead the way toward the front are called 'the sheep of Judah'. And it is also called the 'Kiss of Judas', referring to the friendship of a disguised traitor. Even the window that watches over the prisoners in the prison is called the 'Spear of Judas'.
The Lord said to Judas Iscariot, "The Son of Man goes as it is written, but great woe to him." Even if it is not Judas, the crucifixion of Jesus is fulfilled, but Judas' greed and wickedness caused his own destruction.
Saints!
Please reject the villain. I hope you get rid of the bad guys. Even if God's will is accomplished through a villain, retribution will surely follow those who act as a villain.
